Mum of 4 children AMA

Not a thread about a thread. There seems to be alot of misconceptions out there. AMA

We agreed before we married that we'd aim for 4 children - we thought it would make the fights even - this was wishful thinking.

Last time I looked at the stats there were around 300,000 families with 4 or more dependent children, out of around 8m families, so seems to be a bit under 4% of families, though it is pretty standard among our social circle and at the DC's school.

Would you advise someone who has 3 healthy children to stop because of the risk of disability in the 4th (or subsequent)? Sort of, you've been lucky so far, don't risk it any further? I say this as the mum of a seriously birth injured child and know how difficult it is not to let number 2 miss out. SEN children are rewarding but harder work, and for much longer.

I also have a DF who has 3 young DC via IVF and is now going for more. I think she's mad, but they can afford the DC and she loves young DC

If I was asked this advise, I don’t feel I could advise but would say that my 4th is SEN and can very hard work which impacts my other dcs.
