If people are asking questions then, yeah, clearly it is.

Lionessloudmouth · 16/03/2021 15:49

Can you comfortably afford it? Are your children going without anything?

Yes, feel very blessed that we have a pretty decent income, although I know this could change.

Do you think of yourself as having a "big famiy"? (Though I think this question lies in the same topic of is it AMA worthy.)

FlyingBurrito · 16/03/2021 15:50

@BlondehairRedlips

I have 4... why have you done an AMA?
There were quite a few families when my DC were at primary school with 4 (or more children), where do you live that this is unusual?
Lionessloudmouth · 16/03/2021 15:51

How do you do it? I feel quite drained by the emotional needs and practical logistics of having one child. Do you work? Do you have practical or financial support from relatives?

You just do, also they are all singles so happened gradually. Yes I run my own very part time business. Next to no support, nearest relations are 100’s of miles away and not much help Grin.

Isn't 4 a perfectly normal number of children to have?

Lionessloudmouth · 16/03/2021 15:52

If people are interested, as they seem to be, I think having four is AMA worthy. I think 4 is a little, big family.

Do you ever worry about the impact having 4 children has on the environment?

Lionessloudmouth · 16/03/2021 15:54

Do they have the same father?

Yes

What's your annual household income?

Upwards of £150k

Not enough to not have 4, I do try and be eco friendly although like most people could do more.

What are your age gaps and which jump in number of children was the easiest/hardest?

19,16,12 and 8 I found 1 to 2 really hard, think I had PND. 2 to 3 was the easiest.

Do you think having a brood of children mitigated against the deleterious effects of lockdown for them?

goldielockdown2 · 16/03/2021 16:06

Is 4 children unusual?

Lionessloudmouth · 16/03/2021 16:07

I don’t think so, but maybe somewhat? Fo you have 4, have you found that to be the case?

No, I have paltry three but they were very good company for one another, it helps they all have similar interests.

I was shielding and it could have been a very isolating affair given the stretch of time we were cut off from everyone but I think having a house full of noise and company took the edge off.

I really like this AMA OP. It's the kind of thing I'm curious about bit wouldn't ask irl.
Did you have easy pregnancies? My friends who have larger families have found the pregnancy /birth /newborn journey quite easy.

Lionessloudmouth · 16/03/2021 16:57

I hated being pregnant, every time! 4th was worst due to health issues. Dd1/2 births were hard, Dd3 was a natural home birth, I’d do that again and again!! Ds1 was born in hospital, was quick and ok.

Dd1, after about 7 weeks I started to enjoy her
Dd2 was pretty easy as was dd3 and ds

That's really interesting @Lionessloudmouth maybe I just assume it's easier for bigger families. Fair play to you I think.
