As the title really Smile

Considering a tummy tuck or a spot of lipo? Or want to know about abdominal muscle repair? I had all procedures 13 weeks, so feel free to ask me anything

Did you get it done in the uk?

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 19:47

@lardass88 yes. I would never consider going abroad for major surgery. The risks aren't worth it plus you do need your surgeon on hand in the weeks post op. That is part of what you pay for

@Babymamaroon oh you can do it! I was off painkillers by day 3 (mainly because they made me feel so sick and weird!) and although the soreness and discomfort wasn't great - it's completely fine if you don't move Grin

I have had it done too and @FlamingoAtTheBingo has described it really accurately. It was life changing for me.

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 19:50

Another before and after. As you can clearly see, it's not weight loss surgery as I'm still a chunky 11 stone something but this shows that massive improvements can be made

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 19:53

@Liftmusic yes it is life changing I'd agree. My confidence is a lot higher for sure. My husband had never ever seen my stomach before in daylight - not once in 9 years! And now? I basically flash him constantly

I know the rest of me isn't perfect - my upper arms are beyond bingo wings for example but it's proven to me that my hang up was my stomach - I never expected the perfect body but I'm happy with the miracle my surgeon managed

I had a 270 tummy tuck due to having so much fat and loose skin so my scar comes past my hips a fair bit

Glad you're so happy with yours

Thanks so much for this post. I’m a size 10-12 and always had a flat stomach but after two ENORMOUS babies I now have a roundish tummy, a bit of an apron, 2-3 cm seperation and loads of loose skin. I have a stone or so to lose and want to give it a year or so of exercise but I know I’ll never get my old stomach back that way. I am always tempted by the idea of surgery but don’t see how they could fix my loose granny skin...

edgeware · 10/01/2021 19:57

PS you look great

I kept thinking about getting my arms done but have decided against it, I just wave from the wrist.
Yes to flashing Dh constantly Grin

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 20:01

@edgeware oh but they can! A good plastic surgeon can work miracles and it doesn't sound like you are anywhere near what I was like. A mini tummy tuck is generally something to consider when it's just loose saggy skin - my surgeon won't do mini's however - but plenty do.

Good luck with whatever you decide

I couldn’t believe where my tummy button moved to either.

FlamingoAtTheBingo · 10/01/2021 20:02

I considered arms but I've seen too many situations of it going wrong - it's a prime place for the wound to open up and the surgeon needs to be absolutely spot on with how much they take - too much and the incision will split and too little and you still have bingo wings!

Plus my husband boringly forbids it - and I understand why

Stop calling yourself chunky op, your figure is beautiful and you are perfectly in proportion.

The thing that amazes me most is that once the tummy went, the rest of your body seemed to blossom!

I have had three c sections and think I have got off very lightly in regards to the tummy. However, I would consider a face lift once I'm super wrinkly.

kazza446 · 12/01/2021 23:09

You look amazing 😀

needtoseperate · 25/01/2021 19:21

flamingos you look great and glad you’re happy sorry to miss the point but those animal print bottoms in the last pic? are they pyjamas or actual trousers?either way I love them and where are they from please?

Sarahandduck18 · 08/02/2021 08:23

Did you worry about the risks?

Like if you didn’t wake from the anaesthetic?

What was the hospital like? Did you have to share a room?

OhAnotherNameChange · 08/02/2021 08:38

What incredible results OP, I bet you must feel amazing!

I've lost a lot of weight (still not done!) and I already have a big apron of fat and skin. I doubt I will ever get rid of it even if I get to a healthy weight. Hopefully one day I will be able to save the money to get a tummy tuck. I would so love to have a figure like yours!!

Nailingthis · 03/03/2021 06:20

Where was your surgery based please? I had a consultation booked in before COVID - but keep hesitating due to the cost.

Your pictures look incredible

YerWanIsGettinNotions · 05/03/2021 11:03

@FlamingoAtTheBingo Thank you for sharing this post and those great pics! This is something I've considered as post-kids I now have a belly that is the first place to gain when I put on weight. I look like a blob. And the gap never reduced- in fact I'm almost happier being obese, because when I'm less heavy the "bump" is way more pronounced and people have often commented on my pregnancy.

Can I ask 2 questions:

  1. What is your "natural" shape? Would you have considered yourself more hourglass or pear-shaped, or apple shaped?
  2. I saw you say you also had a breast reduction. Did you feel you did those procedures the right way around, or knowing what you know now, would you have wanted to do this procedure first and breast reduction afterwards?

And a third one actually- how did you set out to research the procedure and the surgeon? What did you look for?

FlamingoAtTheBing0 · 07/04/2021 19:38

@YerWanIsGettinNotions so sorry I missed your question. I also name changed but back again!

My natural shape is short and err maybe a bit dumpy? I carry the majority of weight on my stomach, I'm very much an apple shape.

I'd never considered a TT back when I had the breast reduction - mainly because it never entered my head as something I could do and the cost of a TT is considerable. But probably the right way to do it is the TT first

I started off by googling surgeons within an hour or so of me. You shouldn't really go too far afield as you have to be able to see them with relative ease should you need to. I then homed in on my chosen one and researched him. He was absolutely the right one for me

FlamingoAtTheBing0 · 07/04/2021 19:39

@Nailingthis I had my surgery at Spire Dunedin in reading.

FlamingoAtTheBing0 · 07/04/2021 19:40

@nowlook ha yes - Scamp and Dude. I have loads of them, mainly because I feel like o can get away with wearing them outside but it's like wearing your pyjamas!
