As have thousands of others. 🤷🏻‍♀️

NotJustACigar · 31/10/2020 10:05

Hope you're feeling ok, OP, with only mild or no symptoms.

ProudAuntie76 · 31/10/2020 10:06

Where do you think you got it?

Chocolateteabag · 31/10/2020 10:06

What happens with track and trace people?

I don't know anyone who has tested positive for it

ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:09

@Feminist10101 well I do know that!! It was more for people who have questions that they want to ask someone who actually has it rather than reading about it

@NotJustACigar yes thank you. I only have mild symptoms, even though I was shielding initially due to being vulnerable. So very lucky

@ProudAuntie76 I got it from my mum. She works in a care home. They are tested weekly, and hers was positive, so I tested as I had been with her three days in a row. She had no symptoms at all, so good that it was picked up by chance.

if you were shielding how have you caught covid?

cushioncovers · 31/10/2020 10:13

if you were shielding how have you caught covid?

Well that's the 64 million dollar question isn't it. If we knew we'd be able to stop the spread much more easily.

ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:13

@Chocolateteabag I personally think track and trace does not work correctly.

My mum put me and my son as close contacts, yet I've not heard a thing from them. I took it upon myself to test and isolate. And I happened to be positive.

I've put her and others as my close contacts and they have all been rang and they get a call every day to make sure they are okay, yet I've not had one call from them 🤷🏻‍♀️ if I relied to hear from them about being in contact with a positive case I would still be none the wiser!

your mum
would be in a high risk group for catching covid working in a home, if you were shielding why were you seeing her???? I have only
seen my mum for one and half days since 10th Dec last year!!!!

ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:14

@whattodo2019 because shielding finished weeks ago.

OP posts:
cushioncovers · 31/10/2020 10:15

Have you lost your sense of smell or taste op?

tenlittlecygnets · 31/10/2020 10:15

It's test and trace. Track and trace is for Royal Mail parcels. Just sayin'.

ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:16

@whattodo2019 I had to see her for a reason that I won't post here.

Shielding finished weeks ago. People have all returned to work, me included. I only had to shield for 6 weeks and the criteria changed for people like myself.

ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:16

@cushioncovers no I haven't.
I have had a weird feeling in my mouth though. Tongue is all tingly and metal tasting.

@tenlittlecygnets I knew what the poster meant, as do lots of other people. 🙄🙄🙄

And you thought that meant you were safe To ignore social distancing?

FFS.

ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:33

@Feminist10101 at no point have I said i felt safe to ignore social distancing.

Sometimes you have to see someone for a reason that outweighs the risk!!

I'm not going to plaster on a forum of strangers why I had to see my mum, but the risk very much was worth the reason for needing too...bit that isnt any of your assuming ass business!!

I've posted this for people to ask questions that they would like to know from someone first hand that has covid as there are so many questions that people have, worry about etc. the press constantly sensationalize Covid, and only talk about the worse cases.

If you're only going to make assumptions about me then I suggest you post elsewhere. I don't have time or energy for people like you who take a small amount of information and assume you know the facts!!! I won't be replying to you any more.

tenlittlecygnets · 31/10/2020 10:36

I guess we can add to the list of Covid symptoms: getting shirty when anyone questions you or disagrees with you! 🙄🙄😂😂

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 31/10/2020 10:38

I get you wanted to be helpful with this thread OP but I fear you'll get a hard time and wonder why you bothered Confused
Look after yourself and I hope you don't get too unwell.

ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:39

@Feminist10101 people can disagree with me, But you made a comment to make the person who called it the wrong thing look stupid. There is no need when I knew what they meant.

And I will reply when people are making assumptions about how I've caught covid. Millions of people have caught it, and all for different reasons I'm sure.

OP posts:
ElloElloEllo122 · 31/10/2020 10:41

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit thank you. There is always some who just comment to cause issues or pick people apart.

I just wanted to hopefully give some answers to people who may have questions arhat aren't just posted from media, but someone who can answer first hand.

I did just want to help others and offer some reassurance

Thank you, resting is all I can do whilst staying in full isolation. Thank goodness for Netflix

Mine was picked up by chance on a one off random test at work. It really annoys me that care home staff are tested weekly. But frontline NHS staff are not. Mine was part of a research study.
