Basically what the title says! I'd rather not reveal my location as that would be a bit of a giveaway. Me and my husband were featured on LLL a few years back and even bought the house that Phil showed us.

@PizzaAndCake

He's lovely! He was really supportive and knowledgeable.

That’s good to hear. Didn’t want to think that he wasn’t as nice as he looks on the programme!

cherryblossommorningstoday · 09/07/2020 23:36

Did you have to re-film parts?

GabsAlot · 09/07/2020 23:41

were you nervous at being filmed

happylittletree · 09/07/2020 23:44

This is fascinating. What was the strangest part of the experience?

PizzaAndCake · 09/07/2020 23:47

@Parkmama

Did you go to a pub or cafe for the wait and n the phone to the agent? Did they drink booze or pretend booze??
Yes, we went to the pub after 2nd viewing the house we wanted. Both Phil and my husband drank alcohol but I just had water

@Witchofzog

Were you told to wear the same clothes each weekend for continuity?
No, I'm pretty sure we wore different clothes but did have multiple viewings on the same day

@LadyEloise

Have the houses they source been surveyed prior to you looking at them ? When you're sitting waiting for an offer to be accepted / rejected is that all done in real time ?
No, some of the houses he found us weren't even for sale.

Yes, we waited in that pub for 2 hours before the vendor got back to us

PizzaAndCake · 09/07/2020 23:53

@Nicknacky

What was your reason for not wanting to do a follow up? I love them.
My husband in general did not enjoy the attention. A lot of his work colleagues STILL bring up that he was on tv.

@colouringindoors

What's the one piece of advice you'd give to someone house-hunting?
You will have to compromise on something eventually, so don't get too upset over it

PizzaAndCake · 09/07/2020 23:56

@Witchofzog

Were you briefed before hand on do's and don'ts?
Yes but it was basic stuff like no swearing, no outrageous clothes etc

@tiredanddangerous

I love LLL! When they do the whole phoning the agent from the pub thing do they really get a call back that quickly?
No, the vendor did not get back to us for a full 2 hours!
OP posts:
PizzaAndCake · 10/07/2020 00:00

@KatherineParr4

Is the offer really made in a phone call over a drink? Or is there more to it than that?
We made the offer over the phone but over the next few weeks we had to deal with the paperwork and vendors privately but it was a fairly quick process

Saffzy · 10/07/2020 00:01

Did you have a lot of involvement with Phil? Or was it mainly producers and then him popping in for the main bits?
Have you ever been recognised in the street by someone that has seen your episode?

AristotleAteMyHamster · 10/07/2020 00:01

What checks did they do to make sure that you weren’t looking for something totally unrealistic?

TheQueef · 10/07/2020 00:04

Interesting thread.

Passmethecrisps · 10/07/2020 00:04

So what was your chat for two hours? Is Phil easy banter?

Witchofzog · 10/07/2020 00:14

I bet Phil is great company in the pub. You drew the long straw there op Smile

I would like to know if they film the whole 2 hours though as they always capture the moment the phone rings

Littlepurpleflower · 10/07/2020 00:14

Love this thread!

Puffthemagicdragongoestobed · 10/07/2020 00:23

How do you get the timing done with applying to be on the show whilst putting your house on the market and receiving an offer in order to then be able to make a proceedable offer on the show?

HousemaidsElbow · 10/07/2020 00:28

Did you use the expressions ‘wow factor’ or ‘good-sized room’?

CatAndHisKit · 10/07/2020 01:18

You will have to compromise on something eventually, so don't get too upset over it.
Great advice, OP, something I need t oapply to my situation more!
What did you compromise on, OP?

jessstan2 · 10/07/2020 01:21

Smashing! Are Phil and Kirstie as nice as they seem on TV? I think the chemistry between them is good, they work very well as partners on that show.

I expect you've seen yourselves on telly a few times now. What is that like?

NightCzar · 10/07/2020 04:04

Do the vendors know their places will be visited by the show and on the telly? I'm often surprised by how untidy the houses are.

ElizabethMainwaring · 10/07/2020 04:15

@Witchofzog

Ah I love Phil. I used to always have rude dreams about him Grin
I went right off him when he murdered a giraffe for fun on safari. It was in the papers a few years ago. I can't stand him now. Horrible man.
ElizabethMainwaring · 10/07/2020 04:19

Apologies. It was a deer. I could have sworn it was a giraffe. How odd.
