Due to a recent thread of AMA (which i commented on) i thought i would start this thread! Smile

Wow you have issues..

Expecting people to agree with you is not the point of AMA

MustardScreams · 23/10/2019 21:06

@iamtinkabella blimey! No one is looking down on you. They’re questioning why, at 22, with likely perfect skin and youth on your side you’d want a cosmetic procedure. I think that’s a pretty reasonable question to ask, considering you posted an AMA Confused

iamtinkabella · 23/10/2019 21:07

@IDontWantToCookTonight Thankyou so very much for actually calling out such a vile person who has, as you said, massiveky made me feel like shit. Along with a few other peoples comments! I appreciate how much of a decent human being you are. And youre not a bullySmile

GooseFeather · 23/10/2019 21:08

RueCambon asked a fair question. If you are already young and having treatments that are widely associated with preventing aging, it is not unreasonable to ask (in AMA) if the poster has insecurities around getting older and if they feel their youth is what they have to offer.

What do you do for a living that allows you to afford repeated expensive Botox injections?

Branleuse · 23/10/2019 21:12

not sure you quite got the idea of AMA, op, but im surprised a 22 year old has frown lines and needs botox. Thats so young. Unlucky!! I dont have a problem with botox. I had it myself a couple of times, but I def didnt have any wrinkles till probably late 30s. Are you a smoker?

Brackish · 23/10/2019 21:12

@RueCambon wasn’t remotely nasty. She asked civil, if direct, questions. To which you gave increasingly incoherent and aggressive replies. And you have clearly misunderstood the point of AMA, which is not to make you feel good about your choices. And you are the one who invited being asked about your age by putting it in your title with an exclamation mark — as a pp has said, you would have had entirely different questions if you’d said ‘I have Botox to treat migraines’ — a friend of mine has it regularly to numb facial nerves after she was left in agony when a root canal went wrong. It actually makes her face look slightly strange and stiff, but she’s happy to trade that for pain.

IDontWantToCookTonight · 23/10/2019 21:12

@iamtinkabella my pleasure

I got u sis Grin

missanony · 23/10/2019 21:17

I don’t know how anyone who does this anti ageing procedure to wrinkle free young people sleeps at night.

I accept the migraine thing if it’s genuine

iamtinkabella · 23/10/2019 21:17

@IDontWantToCookTonight im going to get this thread deleted, but again thanksWine

As for people asking what i do for a living.. the botox is 150 pound. ive had it 3 times. Thats not repeatedly, it was a treat.

OP posts:
IDontWantToCookTonight · 23/10/2019 21:18

I highly doubt OP expected to be made to feel good about her choice by everybody. But she certainly didn’t expect someone to come here and have words out in her mouth stating she only has youth to offer and whether she wants to feel validated. What a horrible response to a genuine AMA.

Ruebon deliberately worded their posts in a way to cause upset, not to gain information.

And yes OP, I agree with the ageist of mumsnet. I’ve been on different usernames and as soon as my age comes into it I’m suddenly treated and spoken to like a child.

I’m 23 and I’m pregnant, so you can imagine that went down an absolutely treat here in the world of mumsnet 🤪

overnightangel · 23/10/2019 21:20

Can we see a “before and after” photo?

MustardScreams · 23/10/2019 21:23

You can’t just get a thread deleted because you don’t like the answers! Jesus Grin

GooseFeather · 23/10/2019 21:27

If three isn't repeatedly, how many is?
I certainly wouldn't have have had £150 spare for cosmetic procedures aged 22. Even now, aged 47, I would not spend that. To me, it is a lot.
And you didn't answer my question either which was about what job/career allows that kind of easily disposable income. I didn't ask how much each injection was.

iamtinkabella · 23/10/2019 21:29

@IDontWantToCookTonight oh god i can imagine. Im sure many posters where eager to know if you where married/ your financial status/ if you still live at your parents. Its comical😂

As for the poster saying i can't get it deleted. The threads upset me, the posters have upset me, if MN wont delete it ill delete my account. I have enough upset in my REAL life without people hiding behind usernames giving me attitude. Its an AMA not a 'Come and give me loads of shit because of my age and life choices'

OP posts:
CatToddlerUprising · 23/10/2019 21:33

Whereabouts did you get it done? And how long does it last for you? I would love my 11 lines done. (And I hope your brother is doing okay Flowers)

theoriginalmadambee · 23/10/2019 21:35

Christ, i thought AMA was answering queries about posters specific thing/experience. Not flaming and putting down. I think AIBU is for that.

OP sorry about you brother.

If you will answers this... How long does an injection last, both for the migraines and wrinkles?

Anyat212 · 23/10/2019 21:36

Hi OP

I think you've had some pushy and very infested comments on here actually Hmm if MN won't delete, you can "hide" the thread if your on the app click the up and down arrows in the top right hand corner. Nobody can see / comment on it without waiting on MN to get back to you.

As others have said don't allow strangers bitchy comments upset you. Even if people don't think Rue has been awful, the OP has taken it that way. Which is enough. I have to say I rolled my eyes at her repeated comments on this thread! I never understand why people continue to comment and push on here when you can see the OP getting annoyed / upset.

yourbeautiful · 23/10/2019 21:37

@RueCambon isn't in a good mood tonight HmmConfused

iamtinkabella · 23/10/2019 21:37

@CatToddlerUprising She is mobile so comes to me after she has finished i the hospital. It usually lasts around 6-8 months personally. If you want it done go for it! My foundation goes on so much smoother too since having it done which i love. He is doing ok thank you.

OP posts:
RaymondStopThat · 23/10/2019 21:38

Do you really think a nurse is sufficiently qualified to inject botox into your face? I would never have it, but if I was going to, I would insist on someone medically qualified as a first and most basic requirement. I say that as someone who is clinical myself, I wouldn't let a nurse anywhere near my facial muscles with a syringe full of botox.

iamtinkabella · 23/10/2019 21:40

@madambee thank you, i appreciate that.

Usually 6-8 months but i havent had it done since before christmas and only just starting to suffer badly with migraines again now.

OP posts:
iamtinkabella · 23/10/2019 21:41

@RaymondStopThat she is specially qualified in botox as well. You can be qualified in more than one thing

OP posts:
iamtinkabella · 23/10/2019 21:42

@Anyat212 thank you so much for telling me that, i will hide it tonight before i go to bed!

OP posts:
Freddiemercuarysmoustache · 23/10/2019 21:48

.

Cohle · 23/10/2019 21:48

It seems odd to post in AMA about your controversial choice and then be angry and upset when people ask you questions about it.

OP are you concerned about the safety of having a medical procedure performed outside a clinical setting? What if you had a serious allergic reaction?
