  • Pink and purple glitter is not for all tastes

Our verdict

If your toddler or preschooler loves to make an entrance, then what better way to do it than on a sparkly scooter with attention-grabbing flashing LED wheels?

The new Mini Micro Glitter Scooter is a great first set of wheels. It is easy to steer, the chunky handles are comfortable and easy to grasp and, like other products from Micro Scooters, it’s hard-wearing, so you don’t have to worry too much about bumps and scrapes. It’s easy to assemble and adjust too.

Although the scooter is meant for children aged from two to five years, older children may get on better with the Maxi Micro Deluxe, which has a larger footplate and allows for a bit more speed.

But for scooting newbies, I would highly recommend the Mini Micro Glitter.

What’s the Mini Micro Glitter Deluxe Scooter like to assemble?

I found the Mini Micro Glitter easy to assemble. The instructions were clear, and everything I needed was in the box. All I had to do was fit the T-bar onto the base. The T-bar is then extended to the preferred height by loosening a clamp. It took mere minutes until the scooter was ready for action.

What’s the Mini Micro Glitter Deluxe Scooter like to look at?

Fab-u-lous, darling! My four-year-old loved the glitter and the flashing LED wheels, which are powered by induction energy created when kids scoot.

Of course not every child is into pink and purple glitter, but luckily Micro Scooters offers the Mini Micro Deluxe in a wide variety of colours, without the glitter, for the same price.

What’s the Mini Micro Glitter Deluxe Scooter like in day-to-day use?

My daughter loved how easy the Mini Micro Glitter was to steer and control. The chunky handles were comfortable to hold on to as she glided over the cracked and potholed pavements.

The scooter is aimed at two to five-year-olds and would be a great introduction to kids who are new to the world of scooting. Because it is aimed at young children, you can’t go particularly fast, which my nearly-five-year-old found a bit frustrating. She preferred taking the Micro Scooters Maxi Micro Foldable for a spin instead, as she found it much easier to control at speed and liked the bigger footplate.

If you’re not sure whether to plump for a Mini or Maxi, Micro Scooters has produced a handy guide to help you decide which scooter is the best for your child.

Is the Mini Micro Glitter Scooter good value for money?

Micro Scooters have a great reputation for having a long lifespan, so although they are on the pricey side, you know that you are getting a premium product that can be passed down to younger siblings. If you have a child who adores everything pink and glittery, then the Micro Scooter Mini Micro Glitter Deluxe is worth every single penny. However, if your child is at the top end of the recommended age, you may want to consider investing in a Micro Scooter Maxi Micro, to get the most bang for your buck.
