Unbelievable Black Friday discounts on the mattresses Mumsnetters rave about

If you’ve been umm-ing and ahh-ing over investing in a new mattress, now is the time to make that purchase. Here's our top picks from this year's Black Friday mattress deals.

The Sleep Foundation recommends replacing your mattress every 6-8 years, and right now there are gigantic savings to be made on some of the best mattresses out there. Thanks to Black Friday, hybrid mattress brands like Emma, Nectar and Simba are slashing their prices by up to a whopping 65% for a limited time.

We’ve spotted discounts on mattresses featured in our round-up of the best mattresses Mumsnetters swear by, including our best mattress for side sleepers, the Emma Next Gen Premium (was £669, now £335), best hybrid mattress from Simba (was £809, now £445) and our top pick for a ‘bed in a box’, from Nectar, (was £1,299, now £520).

Costing hundreds of pounds, choosing a new mattress is a big decision - especially if you’re ordering online. Luckily, many of the new generation of mattress brands offer trial periods with no-questions-asked returns. Simba and Emma offer a 200-night trial, while with Nectar you have an entire year to decide - so you can see how your mattress performs in all seasons.

What is a hybrid mattress?

A hybrid mattress offers the best of both spring and memory foam. The upper layers in a hybrid mattress are made of latex or memory foam, which conform to the body’s contours and alleviate aches and pains. The responsive support of springs ensure your spine is properly aligned and stops you disturbing your partner when you turn over in your sleep. What’s more, hybrid mattresses can offer better breathability and temperature regulation than traditional sprung or memory foam mattresses.

We got single Emmas for the DCs last year and liked them so much we’ve just bought a kingsize one for us. So far we both love it, it’s medium firm and really comfy.

When is Black Friday 2023?

Black Friday 2023 officially launches on 24 November, but as we've seen in recent years, retailers tend to kick off their sales a few days (or even weeks!) beforehand so it's well worth keeping an eye out for bargains throughout the whole month. The MNHQ deal hunters will be busy sourcing savings on products that we know Mumsnetters love and recommend.
