I'm Mumsnet's beauty editor and I think this air hair styler is better than other air wraps

“This air styler is a must have for anyone. I have been amazed by the results, taming my hair to make it smooth and sleek.” kayc77

I’ve tried friends’ air wraps from other brands over the years, always finding them tricky to use and, honestly, not worth their eye-watering price tags. But this particular 6-in-1 hair tool by Bellissima has a price tag that’s a lot easier to swallow, and while the Black Friday sales have now ended, it's still lower than others on the market.

My hair is thick - so much so that an old colleague used to say I had six hairs growing out of one follicle. When it grows long it can be hard to maintain any sort of style or curls due to the weight of it.

Thankfully, I’ve had my hair chopped off recently, and thanks to the Bellissima Italia Prodigy Air Styler, I’ve been able to maintain a salon-fresh look for longer between washes. You know the look – bouncy, smooth hair that looks like you've just stepped out of a magazine shoot.

After countless products promising the world and delivering, well, somewhat less, the Prodigy Air Styler actually does the job.

Why choose the Bellissima Italia Prodigy Air Hair Styler over other hair stylers?

So, what sets it apart? First off, it's got this clever Ion Ceramic Hi-Pro technology that delivers gentle heat for soft, frizz-free hair* all while protecting it from heat damage**.

Although, the real magic happens with its Coanda Technology – imagine 200 tiny air flows working together to wrap your hair perfectly around the styling attachments. No more awkward wrist positions as you attempt to curl your hair with straighteners at 7am!

The digital motor packs some punch – we're talking five times the pressure of your regular hairdryer***. Which means you'll get out the door faster, looking better. Even my own DH has been impressed with the hairdryer attachment.

Customer suzannep27 couldn't agree more: "It has all you need to create bouncy curls without damaging your hair. I honestly love it! Many different settings for various hair requirements!"

Bellissima Italia Prodigy Air Hair Styler: what’s in the box?

Inside you’ll find six attachments, the Prodigy styler itself and a rather luxe storage bag

  • Six versatile drying and styling attachments, including a dryer, volumising brush, two Coanda tools for curls, a 32mm brush as well as a detangle and smooth attachment

  • A rather posh beauty bag that’s handy for storage

  • Cable holder and B-Cable clip (goodbye, tangled mess)

  • Three speeds and three temperature settings

  • That all-important cold blast feature

Pro tip: The digital heat control is checking the temperature 55 times per second. This means you're getting optimal heat without the damage, which my formerly frazzled ends are particularly grateful for.

As you can see, my hair is quite thick and tends to have a mind of its own some days. In the above picture, I'm using one of the Coanda technology attachments on my left side and the right side of my hair is untouched.

At first I was confused as to which attachment I should use on which side of my hair for my desired style, but it didn't take long for me to figure out. I prefer curls that go outwards rather than inwards, which I can then brush out for a more tousled bob look.

It's a little unclear in the picture due to the lighting of my walk-in wardrobe, but you should be able to see how defined the curl is on my left side after using the styler for approximately 10 seconds on my hair.

How much does the Bellissima Italia Prodigy Air Hair Styler cost?

I was very impressed by how fast it curled my hair with minimal effort on my part

At £179.99 at John Lewis, it's still an investment, but one that's significantly more palatable than some other air stylers on the market.

And honestly? The results speak for themselves. My morning routine has never been smoother, and my hair has never been happier.
