Lilly Wachowski accused J.K. Rowling of "funding trans genocide" and compared her to the Nazis — and now, the author is responding to the Matrix filmmaker's criticism.

A musician I like but who is very TRA-leaning shared the Wachowski quote yesterday and I immediately thought JKR is going to have fun suing this one.

I think this sentence in the article itself is potentially libellous "She has habitually shared anti-trans rhetoric on social media, at one point tweeting that she'd "happily do two years" in prison instead of supporting policies protecting transgender people from hate crimes."

Anyone calling another person “a literal Nazi” needs to read up on WW2 to inform themselves of what the Nazis did, and reconsider their hyperbolic, offensive, liberal use of the label when seeking to describe contemporary writers. Lily is clearly very dim and very ill informed - a dangerous combination.

Brothers who both transitioned - what are the chances? Larry > Lana, Andy > Lilly. They are almost my age - they're 61 and 58 now. There aren't many female filmmakers of that sort of age who've had the success of the Wachowskis. I wonder how well the Ws would have done if they'd transitioned in early life as opposed to middle age with a very successful track record behind them.

There are other similarities to middle-aged men who start 'identifying as women' in their middle or later years after a successful career in male-dominated fields. And ( I could be wrong so please correct me if that's the case) any cases she funds are for women to protect their rights under already existing laws.

She is not using her influence or funding any changes to laws.

To be fair, if we had laws similar to those in Australia, she probably would be campaigning to change the law and that would be her democratic right.

Meanwhile I still haven't heard any proposals for new legislation from Samantha Niblett et al. Have I missed something?

I watch a lot of their context as Buck talks about what it is actually like to transition and is very against childhood transitioning

Re gaming. For the past 15 years games development, communities and marketing was dominated by these kind of TRAs and trans identified guys - porn-addled neuro divergent, tech geeks. Then after lockdown's gaming peak, consolidation and AI led to around 25-30% of jobs going (this is on the back of big expansion prior to this) and many of these activist employees were first out of the door. This coincided with the massive success of Hogwarts Legacy and gaming becoming more female and mainstream. Many games leaders breathed a secret sigh of relief about no longer having to deal with them. The film industry is currently going through similar and that's why his kind of work can't get greenlit.

(Not saying that unemployment is good but the vagaries of film/music/gaming markets mean that there is expansion and contraction in employment. Nobody chooses a career there thinking its a job for life.)
