Researchers at Rutgers University found that those normalising transgender beliefs were more likely to be supportive of political violence.

Here's an NYP article summarising the report findings

You want to be a resource to be used by men either to affirm an identity or to feed a fetish?
I will truly never understand men.

No. I don’t believe transgender people ARE using women either to affirm their identity or to feed a fetish.

Well, in answer, I submit the Mandy Rice Davies quote.

'Trans' is a modern trend so therefore hasn't existed 'forever', just a decade, although a decade can seem like forever for those with micro minds.

I do think the threats and violence are all coming from one side and it's time the authorities in every country recognise that.

We do speak for all women even those who don't care if their rights are taken from them, those who want to give their rights away, those who are happy to forfeit they rights so they can submit to the authority of men.

That's up to them, giving away the rights of all women because of any of the above is not theirs to do.

‘Micro minds’ is honestly so embarrassing. Aren’t some of the others here embarrassed by the company you keep?

Anyway, if you do some research, you will find that transgender and gender non conforming identities have existed for THOUSANDS of years.

I have literally no idea what you mean by ‘trans has existed for a decade’. Do you even remember Hayley Cropper on coronation street in the 1990s /2000s? It’s you lot that suddenly started being weird about it about a decade ago.

spannasaurus · 28/08/2026 17:24

If Hayley Cropper had been played by a man rather than a woman I doubt the character would have lasted very long.

Corrie did introduce a cross dressing man (Mark? love interest of Audrey) but he didn't last long

'Trans' has not existed for thousands of years, it's a product of GI, which is an academic construct from the post-modern philosophy from the late 60's. Every cross dressing man before the last 10 years, has either been a transsexual or a transvestite, re-branding them to fit the 'trans' narrative is just more made up codswallop.

There have always been people who didn't conform to societal expectations, but you can't retrofit those people to fit a modern trend, trying is just more counter-factual codswallop.

Oh dear. Why do you think the character of Hayley Cropper was played by an actress who is female?

And slightly built. And all of 5 ft 3.

We know. The lobbying group Press for Change were heavily involved. But why do you think it was?

HousePlantEmergency · 28/08/2026 17:48

But what about Hayley from Corrie?

Ohmygod 😂😂😂

The point I’m making to @TheywontletmehavethenameIwant is that trans women existed before a decade ago (yes she’s a fictional character but coronation street obviously didn’t make up the concept; soaps usually reflect the worlds they are made in to some degree).

You’re obviously here to make a different point (fine). I know Hayley Cropper was going to be a punchline, but instead audiences really warmed to the relationship (because it WAS a less vicious time for trans people). I know that Press for Change actually advocated for the role to be played by a trans woman, and then worked in an advisory role …. But it wasn’t their choice for the role to be played by a cis woman. What exactly do you think YOU know?

Have you read the context? I bought her up because some said ‘trans’ (whatever that’s meant to mean on its own) was invented a decade ago. It was just one example of a character from 30 years ago (yes I know she’s fictional, but unless you want to argue Coronation Street invented the whole idea of a trans woman as opposed to reflecting something that already existed in society, then that doesn’t really matter.

It actually sinister how you all think persecuting a tiny percentage of the population is a a big old joke.

UtopiaPlanitia · 28/08/2026 18:03

Sall Grover received death threats from trans activists last weekend which meant she had to withdraw from a women's rights event in Australia.

Making multiple death threats towards women who are speaking in public about the fight to retain (and in Australia it's the fight to REGAIN) sex-based rights and legal protections....I mean, that's perfectly normal and not at all anti-social or dangerous behaviour.

Explain if you like. It’s true I am a bit confused why if you all know that transgender people have existed across cultures for thousands of years, you’ve spend the last decade or so whipping up a moral panic.

I’m not particularly offended by being called sugar. You know it’s condescending, and it’s not how I’d speak to other women, but I didn’t report you.

There has rarely, if ever, been any denial of the fact that many, if not most, cultures have always had mechanisms to explain away deviant behaviour (deviant in the sense of deviating from the accepted norm). In the case of sexuality and, what we can call for ease, stereotypical gender roles, this manifests as the type of identities now co-opted as ‘trans’. The more strictly a culture, or religion, enforces those norms, the more they require those identities. Put simply, if you don’t have a problem with men having sex with men, you don’t have to pretend one of them is a woman

You are indeed ‘catching up’ if you think that many of the women posting here have suddenly discovered this history of ‘others’.

Where we diverge is the sense of these being cases of men, for example, ‘becoming women’. There are numerous examples globally where it is clear these ‘transwomen’ are not in any way considered to be women.

How unlike TRAs though to try and colonise someone else’s experience.

Goodness yes - I always wonder who the gender conforming people are. I certainly can't imagine identifying with all the crap women have had to put up with over the millennia.

However, sex still has consequences and it is still impossible to change sex.

Lots of us warmed to the characters, and the actors, in Pose too. Shame TRAs squandered all that goodwill in order to try to assert dominance over women.

Datun · 28/08/2026 18:08

Trans did not exist in the way it is today. Men were not insisting they go to women's prisons, and rape refuges need to be shut down, because everybody must pretend they are actually female.

Good Lord. Do some of these people not realise that there are very many women here who were actually alive decades ago!

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 28/08/2026 18:10

Okay I'll bite, how are they being persecuted exactly.

How come such a tiny percentage, have gained so much, The UK Women's Pool Champion is a man, he beat another man to win, so there wasn't even a woman in the final for the Championship.
The UN appointed a man, who thinks he's a blow up sex doll version of a women as the UK's Women's Champion.
The Greens have recently voted for a man to take the female only position in the polit bureau.
The list is endless.

I'm not seeing the persecution here, is it by stealth, is a big secret, is it invisible.

is that what they mean by persecuting trans women, criticising their presence in women’s prisons, rape refuges and sports? Because that’s the kind of idiotic argument presented by these jokers, who demand trans woman aka men, get everything they shout and scream for.

whatever that’s meant to mean on its own

Here you go.

https://www.stonewall.org.uk/resources/list-lgbtq-terms

Stonewall uses ‘trans’ as an umbrella term including (but not limited to) transgender, transsexual, genderqueer, genderfluid, non-binary, agender, trans man, trans woman, trans masculine and trans feminine.

They used to include cross dressers, but for some reason they dropped that a couple of years ago.

The most recent census information is not accurate because people were confused by the question, but if you assume that those who wrote in a gender identity different to their sex did understand the question, a third identified as neither male nor female.

A key part of the Hayley Cropper story line was that Hayley passed so well as a woman that the reveal was a surprise. It's clear that UK law was written using the understanding that a trans-sexual like Hayley wished to transition to the opposite sex.

This cannot be assumed of the trans population now. So no, what we understand as 'trans' now didn't exist 20 years ago. (We had more goths though).

It's exactly exactly what they mean. Treat me like an actual woman, or else.

But more than that, they go to the ends of the Earth to find the most exclusive, entirely justified, woman only space, and target it. Deliberately.

Yes people have done things not in their 'sex based' wheelhouse.

But nobody thought they WERE the opposite sex.

Otherwise why would they have had to 'go beyond the law' in order to facilitate men in female changing rooms and toilets?

UtopiaPlanitia · Yesterday 00:01

In keeping with the OP of this thread, and referencing the situation of TRA/Left wing violence in the UK, the recent creation of groups like Bash Back (who have carried out a number of destructive actions and who post aggressive writing online) in conjunction with actions like the piss protests, crowds aggressively disrupting various debate events, and activists releasing vermin at an LGB conference is demonstrating that the early stage generalised aggression towards gender critical women/organisations is now becoming more formalised into left wing groups that damage property and aggressively disrupt meetings. So it would make sense for the same phenomenon to occur in the States, among similarly-minded groups of people and especially in areas with high levels of Antifa-style activists (such as California, Washington State, and Oregon).

It’s a weird phenomenon on the section of the site that people think they’re the top most up to date on all research and discussion, and anyone else must be playing catch up. We have all the information you do, and we STILL don’t agree with bigotry.

Women, little girls and rape survivors like me having female only intimate single sex spaces is not 'bigotry'. It is bigotry to say gay children should be 'transed straight' and that women, girls and trauma survivors have 'no need for' our hard won single sex spaces. That is misogynistic bigotry and dragging womens rights backwards. You're not fooling any of us.

Then A) why won't they accept third spaces if it's not about affirming identity, why the need for wrong-sex pronouns, and B) why are there so many males talking about euphoria boners when being affirmed?

It seems you are a greenskin, incredibly naive and know absolutely nothing whatsoever about this topic.

Males are 50% of the population. Not a 'tiny' percent. You do not get to re-badge one percent of males and now claim they are victims and no longer male and no longer a threat. Life does not work like that. A male remains a male for life. And no one is 'persecuting' (such transperbole) males by saying males cannot enter female spaces. You, are persecuting rape survivors and women and girls by saying we must accept this in our changing rooms and toilets and women's shelters (yes, nice euphoria FETISH boner he has, notice?):

Datun · Yesterday 09:23

Indeed. It's a little late for people to start denying many trans identified men use women and their spaces in order to get aroused.

It's not like they keep it a bloody secret.

It's plastered from one end of the Internet to the other.
