In case anyone has missed this prize example of a mentally ill adult male exhibiting trans entitlement.

in the world you wish to habit, females are absolutely female and feel female and males are absolutely male and feel male

No. Absolutely not. There's no "feeling" anything in the GC world. There's just "being". Women are women, men are men, all of them can feel anything they want, and can perform gender in any way they wish.

This "feeling" thing is purely gender ideology. It doesn't exist outside of it. You can't impose it on a system where it doesn't exist.

Exactly.

It's not difficult. It's just not comfortable for you for some reason. So l, there is female and there is male.. and in the world you wish to habit, females are absolutely female and feel female and males are absolutely male and feel male. Them there are those that absolutely genuinely feel trapped in a body that they in no way identify with. Despite how you object to this, it is the cases. You don't like this concept I realise and I sympathise with you having to imagine this grey area. But there is. A very simplified version, admittedly.

Please point to a single post objecting to how anyone feels.

Noone is doing that. The point is regardless of how an individual feels the reality is that they cannot actually change sex.

You have an idea in your own head about what people on here think and what the arguments are.

Try actually engaging with what is being said rather than what you think is being said (a bit like what the law actually says rather than your own misinterpretation).

The general consensus that "being trans" isn't even really a thing. That's prejudicial in an of itself and it jumps off the screen constantly on these threads. It's been that way for years. Even as the world moves on and peoples perceptions broaden, Mumsnet posters continue to struggle to accept that some people are trans. They dress it up in well worded arguments about women's rights (and incidentally, I believe absolutely that female spaces should be protected) ,but the message on here strongly suggests that so many believe that it shouldn't be an issue because people should just accept that they were born with a penis or vagina and live with that associated gender, despite how they may feel inside. It's so close minded. The world just isn't that black-and-white..

"Even as the world moves on and peoples perceptions broaden, Mumsnet posters continue to struggle to accept that some people are trans."

As the world moves on, people's perceptions of those who identify as trans become more realistic and they no longer see the trans-identified as a bit like gay people - as the trans campaign initially tried to convince everyone they were - but as confused men and women who have issues they need to work through, like the very disturbed man in the video at OP. As the world moves on, people do not perceive of transwomen as women but as men and are no longer afraid to say it.

Fortunately I'm knackered and whilst this has been entertaining and somewhat educational (I have no qualms about admitting I've learnt a few things about the law and looked up some stuff about Equality that I haven't seen since I finished my degree in 2015.. yeah I got there late, because despite apparently being a hairy male trucker of small stature, who likes to pretend to be a 54-year-old menopause woman when posting on feminist forums on the Internet.. , I was parenting my special-needs kid for a lot of years I graduated dead late) .. I do standby my standpoint of recognising that being trans is an actual thing and that there is a law there to protect such people from being subjected to prejudicial behaviour. And yeah I get that all of this is very irritating.l to people who think being trans is attention seeking behaviour or something.

But I need to get to bed because I have to get up at 6 to go to work.. and trying to maintain my fake female persona is also very tiring as you can imagine 🤣🤣 so please do say what you want in my absence. You have my blessing. I'm really not that interesting. I'm surprised that you have persisted in engaging being as you disagree so vehemently. Surely you should have long since ed dismissed me as some thick twat who believes the Earth is flat. It also been a real education, , visiting the feminist section of MN. And people think AIBU is aggressive! It's interesting how some areas of mumsnet are seemingly very resistant to debate of any kind. 🤷‍♀️

What are protective laws?

And... Eh?

Look up protected characteristics Betty. Being trans is included.

@DetectiveDouche Your very username suggests you are not a woman and your use of language suggests you are not from the UK.

FYI you have no idea who we are, for all you know i could be JKR or her Bessie mate. Plenty of very known people hang out here.

We don't out ourselves because of people like you.

You do realise that most of us don’t believe in lady feels? You’ve significantly misunderstood what women here think. We don’t only not believe that a lady gendered soul can turn up in the wrong body, we don’t actually believe in gendered souls at all! A shocker, I know.

I imagine quite a lot of people are unhappy with their bodies, especially girls around the age of puberty. And boys to an extent. I think it was much less polarised when I was younger and I think this has contributed to the social contagion we see now.

No one has said they have no protection in law, you’re completely wrong that we can’t call them men though. Trans women are all men, and it’s extremely important to recognise that, to uphold the rights to safety, privacy and dignity of women and girls, even the internally misogynistic ones who don’t feel they need it.

Google is very unreliable. You could try reading some legal cases such as the Supreme Court ruling, Forstarter case, Higgs, maybe a few books…..

i could give you a good list as most of us could.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 23/07/2026 23:09

Thankfully, those women are in the minority and the law is not on their side because it was clarified in April last year that all trans “women” are in fact men legally when it comes to the protected characteristic of sex in the Equality Act. It’s worth remembering that there are in fact 9 PCs not just the one, although you could be forgiven for thinking otherwise.

Sigh. It's a Mumsnet nickname. If we wanted it to say our actual names wouldn't we just use them? Some of my previous usernames have been song titles or whatever. This isn't unusual elsewhere on MN.. you should venture out of here sometimes you know. You might encounter some scary views but ultimately I think it might help you. 🤣

'Trans' is not listed as a protected characteristic in the EA, it's Gender Reassignment. It has specific legal implications.

Thanks for that summary. Detective did a little switcheroo there with the

I do standby my standpoint of recognising that being trans is an actual thing and that there is a law there to protect such people from being subjected to prejudicial behaviour.
[my bold]

Which is not at all what we were arguing about, because earlier this evening, Detective actually said:

You have defined all trans women as men. As many on Mum'snet seem to do. And this is what you cannot do legally anymore. It's not ok. You just think it is.
[my bold]

Yes, interesting switcheroo there just at the end. Quite clever, but we see it anyway. We always see it! 😄
