If they're blaming his social media posts (which are, let's be honest, bad enough in themselves to warrant his removal), why on earth don't they check people's posts routinely? It's not like they were hard to find.

(More likely, I guess, they knew about this all along and thought he'd fit right in, until the media got wind of him and they didn't want to back him publicly.)

By the time you get to being rejected by the Greens you've been rejected by every other party already so there's nowhere else to go, so you might as well start your own, perhaps they could be the Rainbow Party,

I'm not sure how many French or Urdu speakers there actually are in Holborn. The Labour candidate Sagal Abdi Wali came as a child refugee from Somalia, so he might try Somali or Arabic next

He talks about standing against four prime ministers and for London mayor twice and only one of those opponents has refused to shake hands. He then goes on to say he sees it as his duty to stand against major political leaders and that's why he's announcing he will NOT be standing in Holborn.

Rainbow Greens are perhaps already fulfilling that function.

By the way did anyone see Peston last night on ITV? They'd had a focus group and asked for opinions on various political leaders and had a lib dem and Baroness Warsi guess which one they meant.

Lib dem Ed Davey had "well meaning" as his key standout description.

Kemi Badenoch had "untrustworthy"

Farage had "arrogant"

Polanski had "out of his depth", but the biggest one was "weird"

Tehseen Khan, a Green Party councillor and cabinet member, posted his praise for the trans activists on social media the day after the meeting.

He thanked protesters from the Dyke Project, who describe themselves as “a London-based trans and cis dyke collective fighting for trans liberation”.

In a video on X, he commended them for their “solidarity” in respect of “additional barriers that are experienced by some of our gender-diverse residents”.

He said: “I also want to say a big thanks to the residents that both came to support us inside the chamber, but also demonstrated outside together with the Dyke Project; your solidarity means so much. It’s people like you that make me proud to represent the people of Haringey.”

In the social-media clip that followed, Mr Khan, who is also a GP, said that “trans women are particularly likely to suffer with domestic violence and abuse” and that “by being more inclusive, we are trying to make sure that our services are responsive and that they cater to the needs of all our residents”. ...

I'm glad he's not my GP. He's relied on some very dodgy 'research' and claims around 80% of trans people suffer domestic abuse. I haven't looked into this but I saw someone saying on X that this is an old survey that asked for people to report what had happened to them. No possibility of substantiating the claims, and reports of being called a nasty name were treated as equivalent to being beaten up.

Jesus. Men coming out to side with the men and shout at women who have survived/escaped abuse.
