Just had a PDO threadlift

Am no stranger to facial tinkering but haven't ever had threads before. They've tightened my jowls a treat - can't wait to see full results in about 10 weeks. It wasn't the most pleasurable hour of my life and I will probably need more in in a couple of weeks but am pleased so far.
Oh, my jaw and neck are also turning purple!

I'm so curious about these. Does it have any effect on your neck. My neck isn't bad but I have a tiny pinch of skin that I can see when I turn to the side and think intervention now might be before the point of no return...

Was it very painful?

It's my neck and jaw that I have had done. I had 45 (blimey) threads inserted and am currently very swollen. Won't see full result for up to ten weeks but under the swelling and bruising there is distinct tightening of the turkey neck that was starting. It was a bit ouch having it done but no worse than filler. Mind you, am feeling the effects now and am on sofa with a wine drip.
My next door neighbour had her full face done a few months ago and now it's starting to work fully she looks very fresh.

My mum had this type of lift done to tighten her lower face. It only lasted about a year or so but it looked pretty good at the time.

OP, how long have you been told that it will last for? I've been told 2 1/2-3 years.

I was told to expect 1 1/2 years but possibly up to two. I had it done at Innersense Aesthetics in York and it was £600. It wasn't particularly pleasant as it took an hour to do but nothing I couldn't cope with. They gave me numbing cream which did help. I am a massive wimp.
Swelling is already subsiding and my jaw does look a lot sharper. Roll on the full results.

I will put on a pic once the bruising goes. It currently looks like I have 5 o'clock shadow as the bruising has really set in.

sounds like a good solution for the dreaded jowls, especially if it really does increase collagen production?

I guess thats because it triggers the formation of scar tissue, much like derma rolling?

Ive never heard of anyone having that many before. Maximum is usually 8 in the face and 6 in the neck.

So what happens after 2 years when it all goes back?
Do you have the 'threads' removed or do they stay in your skin?
Can you keep having them every 2 years (or whenever they wear off)?
Long term, are you left with implants in your skin and no change to your 'ageing' face ?

I was going by this image when I said about the stuff left in the skin, the tube things.

Do they just degrade over time and get absorbed into the body, like soluble stitches and that's why the treatment only lasts a few yrs?

Sounds very ouchy, but if it works well and you're happy with it then great.
