Please tell me how to shorten a link to one or two words

Whenever I post a link it's usually:

Http:/aaarbthtqtnwtnwynqtnatnwynwtnwtnwtnqtnatnqtnatn for lines and lines

Please can anyone tell me how to shorten it so I can put 'here' or 'this one' for example.

Return to MN comments box
Type 2 square brackets next to each other, [[
Paste/write the link next to the brackets (no spaces), [[www.mumsnet.com
Write the words you want to appear instead of your link, [[www.mumsnet.com My Link
Close with 2 square brackets facing the other way.

Try it in Preview first.

2. copy and paste the web address
   

then add a space

1. type the word you want to use, THIS for example

I even spread it across different lines and didn't even use a web address!

It literally tells you how right here on the page where you put words in the box to post a message. If you can post a comment, you can make a link

It doesn't tell you if you exclusively use the mobile site

Copy the link

Then go back to the thread you want to post on

Type two of these [ with no spaces between them [[

Then paste your link

Type one space after your link

Type the word, words or short sentence you wanted to reduce the link to

Then with no space after what you've just typed, type two of these ] with no spaces

So [, then [, then link, then a space, then the words you want to be visible, then ] and then lastly, another ].
