52 Small Changes - Week 26

Wow! Are we really half way through the year already?

Week 26 - Gone Fishin'

Eat two servings per week of 3 to 31/3 ounces of seafood.

This week's challenge is to eat more seafood, including both fish and shellfish. If you already eat seafood and enjoy it, this week's challenge should be pretty easy. On the other hand, if you aren't big into seafood, it make take a little effort. Luckily there are lots of types of fish and shellfish that provide healthful benefits.

Last week's challenge is here

This is a nice challenge, but does anyone find fish and seafood has become more and more of a luxury item? I love prawns but they are so expensive. I also don't live near a fishing town to buy some.

Im vegetarian, so no fish for me. Will try cooking some for the kids.

I got some new multivitamins yesterday which are much easier to take. I finally finished the pregnacare ones, theyre huge and have such a nasty aftertaste. Will try and exercise more this week.

Oh god some of those multi vits really do taste disgusting!
Have persevered though and found one that doesn't make pee fluorescent which I found very off putting.

Love fish and shellfish, could quite happily eat all the time and I'm lucky to live near the coast.
You're quite right though Stellar not a cheap option.

I often have tinned salmon or smoked mackerel for lunch, does that count?
And fresh at least once a week.

Feels like a bit of a cheat so will concentrate on waving the bean cans around again Blush

I'll do this one by default when I move to Spain in August. For some reason I only like fish when I'm there. The fish counters are inspiring and the meat is so rubbish that you can't not.

Thanks for new thread.

margarita I eat nothing but fish in most Mediterranean countries! I come from a country that's almost all coastline and fish is always gorgeously fresh. Many fish shops have their own boat. Still love fish and eat it lots - so this is a week when I can concentrate on other challenges.
Still going well on water, taking supplements, eating LC. Have started c25k although DS is home ill today so really hoping I get to do this after DH gets home tonight.
I've also gone back to doing something I hadn't done since DS was born nearly 4 years ago. I used to earn a living from it and I love it...

I lost last week's but I already do weights and yoga is bodyweight exercises too.

Oh, this week's is a good one. I love fish, but feel we're eating less and less of it as dp is very fussy about fish (only really likes white fish and a few others). I would like to up the amount of fish that the dcs and I eat each week. And yes, tinned fish most definitely counts. It is reasonably cheap too. Summer is a really good time to eat more fish, as it's light.

Sorry for any typos, but I have a not so small I'll personable episode on me atm.

You're sounding really inspired DrDiva

At half way point, we all seem to have taken on some things as permanent changes.

Which is fab isn't it, thanks OddSocks for starting it Flowers

Lovely positive post, DrDiva. Dd2 has been poorly this week, but is better now.

I have had quite a lot of fish this week. Sea bass at a Father's Day meal, prawns in a (rice less) "jambalaya", lemon pepper fresh salmon the other day and some cajun from frozen salmon yesterday. I definitely feel better when I eat more fish, I love it!

Generally, doing better with sleep again, after a blip. Drinking lots of water, eating lots of veg, I am now doing yoga everyday and loving it, lots of walking. I do need to up my cardio, I have bought a skipping rope to do in the garden, but it's been a bit wet. Low carbing going well too, I'm getting into 2 meals a day, with the occasional light breakfast if I feel I need it.
