Just that.

(The word you're looking for is "none". "Non" is a prefix, as in non-event or non-existent, not a word in its own right.)

Ah, that's better. Happy Good Friday, everyone.

Well there is. It's not an English word but it very much exists.

But according to the green party I'm a non man? Are you telling me there might be another word I could use to describe myself as opposed to my lack of non man ness?

Nonsense.

What's the context, OP?

Non event means an unimportant event, not worthy of note. It can't be replaced by 'none' .
CuntyMcBollocks · 02/04/2021 14:58

Bit of a non issue for me. There is such a word in the French language, non?

Mmn654123 · 02/04/2021 15:03

Non-issue?

Yes, true, and clearly everyone thinks that invalidates my point - but it's obviously onomatopoeic, whereas "non" keeps cropping up being used erroneously for "none".

@LonginesPrime

What's the context, OP?
People saying this like "there were non left" or "he had non of them". I imagine it's a phonetic spelling of how it would be said in certain accents.

Agree completely - and I mentioned that example in my OP. However when you look it up, it is written - according to the OED, Cambridge, Collins, Macmillan, Wiki, etc. - as "non-event"; i.e. a prefix, not a separate word. Merriam Webster spells "nonevent" as a single word.

Selon moi !

Evidemment le mot existe en français et je veux dire qu'il n'y a pas un tel mot en anglais - à mon avis.
