Just that.

(The word you're looking for is "none". "Non" is a prefix, as in non-event or non-existent, not a word in its own right.)

Ah, that's better. Happy Good Friday, everyone.

@orangejuicer

Missing the point entirely but Non was St David's mother.
Well I didn't know that. Thank you.

@pointythings

Here's a Dutch non.
Ha! Is that Sister Wendy?

It's driving me mad too OP.

I'm going to add bought and brought are too separate words, they're not interchange and you can't only ever use one of them for your whole life.

Bought from 'to buy'
Brought from 'to bring'

Feels better now I've got that off my chest Grin

Don't even get me started on could've, would've, should've

LemonMeringueThreePointOneFour · 02/04/2021 19:29

Well it's 48:52 so either a more-or-less even split, or enough of a majority that I should be cast out on my own and lose all sorts of rights and benefits.

Hurrah - I'm not the only one!

Where do you stand on shrink/shrank/shrunk?

OP posts:
AmberItsACertainty · 02/04/2021 19:35

Is "shrank" a word? Off to Google that.

The ones voting YABU are probably the ones who can't spell Grin

Chunkymenrock · 02/04/2021 19:38

OP, I completely agree. I know exactly what you mean, I see it increasingly on here and it is irritating as hell.

AmberItsACertainty · 02/04/2021 19:39

Oh apparently so. I usually say I "have shrunk" something and not I "shrank" it. Well actually what I I usually say is "bollocks" in that scenario.

butterpuffed · 02/04/2021 19:42

I can't bear it when people type that they can't bare it Shock

I believe it's "I shrank [the kids]" but "I have shrunk".

Yes, probably... Hmm

Someone typed something about having bear arms once which conjured up an amusing image. Grin

pointythings · 02/04/2021 19:51

LemonMeringue it is indeed Sister Wendy, who is not Dutch, but in Dutch she is a non.

And 'Schrank' is German for cupboard. But I've never managed to shrink any of my kids sufficiently to fit in one.

pointythings · 02/04/2021 19:52

Bear feet.

Veryverycalmnow · 02/04/2021 19:57

I've never seen it spelt that way. I'd just put it down to being a typo unless it is happening a lot.

ArosGartref · 02/04/2021 19:59

Of course it's not a word. Non is a complete sentence.

toocold54 · 02/04/2021 20:18

I’ve never seen anyone using non instead of none I just assume the people who are just aren’t great at spelling.

It is happening a lot. I saw it twice within one post recently.
