Using your husbands toothbrush?

Just spent a productive afternoon discovering the delights of Real Housewives of Dallas and Stephanie's husband bought her a new toothbrush as part of an anniversary present to stop her from using his confused
AIBU to think that sharing food debris, plaque and morning mouth grot with your beloved is beyond gross?

Is it anymore gross than oral sex?

Ghostlyglow Tue 23-Jun-20 20:14:16

I use my DP's sometimes - usually by mistake when I'm pissed smile

Deltoids1 Tue 23-Jun-20 20:14:36

You put his penis inside you, but a toothbrush is too gross???

ImInYourMindFuzz Tue 23-Jun-20 20:15:14

Assuming you wash your toothbrush after use? Is it any worse than kissing / other intimate actions.

envy <——not envy.

Nottherealslimshady Tue 23-Jun-20 20:17:16

I've no issue with using eachother toothbrush but DH wrecks his so fast so its neither use nor ornament and I dont let him use mine because he'll wreck that too.

goatley Tue 23-Jun-20 20:19:37

It's a bit icky.

Would only do it in an emergency.
I don't even share towels. Or bathrooms

Iwalkinmyclothing Tue 23-Jun-20 20:21:46

If I can have his genitals in my mouth I don't see why his toothbrush would be a problem tbh.

JustC Tue 23-Jun-20 20:24:06

I mean not intentionally, but it has happened. Wouldn't share on a constant basis. But it didn't make feel ick when it happened, like others have said, we've had various parts of ourselves in each other's mouths.

We went away once and DP was in charge of wash bag, packed his and the kids toothbrushes but not mine apparently I used his he was horrified, said it’s your fault for not packing mine, if you’re in charge of wash bag then pack my stuff

Bagelsandbrie Tue 23-Jun-20 20:29:45

No way would I use dhs toothbrush and I would be horrified if I ever discovered he’d used mine. Yuck! For some reason I find it utterly revolting.

NeutrinoWrangler Tue 23-Jun-20 20:31:10

I'd rather not share (and have never had reason to, yet), but it's one of those things that seem gross, but are actually rather illogical to find disgusting.

Surely you swap more germs while kissing (and so on) than from sharing a toothbrush.

lboogy Tue 23-Jun-20 20:31:32

No way. That's gross

lboogy Tue 23-Jun-20 20:32:42

And I don't use the same towel either . I've seen him floss his butt with the towel

Spied Tue 23-Jun-20 20:34:00

No way I'd use DP's toothbrush.

PotteringAlong Tue 23-Jun-20 20:36:09

It doesn’t bother me in the slightest.

Mistymonday Tue 23-Jun-20 20:37:26

Ick, no way.

Doingtheboxerbeat Tue 23-Jun-20 20:38:02

It's one of those times you have to be philosophical about it , it's like when people don't like using public toilets but wouldn't think twice about staying in a hotel - it's not logical to be that finicky about one thing but not the other.

Dominicgoings Tue 23-Jun-20 20:44:21

No problem with genitals via the oral route. But sharing cruddy morning mouth stuff confused That’s a whole other level of ick grin

We are minging, we only take one toothbrush to share when we travel.
We also once found out we’d both been using the same netted-body-puff-wash-thing for months. We both thought ours was the pink one. blush

emmetgirl Tue 23-Jun-20 20:48:44

So putting his dick in your mouth is ok but not his toothbrush? Ok hmm

Sewinginscotland Tue 23-Jun-20 20:49:49

I've done it when we go away and one of us has forgotten it. It wasn't the end of the world. But I wouldn't do it on purpose.

DramaAlpaca Tue 23-Jun-20 20:50:18

Yuck no. I've been with DH for over 30 years and we've never once shared a toothbrush. The thought makes me shudder.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou Tue 23-Jun-20 20:50:27

See, the toothbrush thing doesn't bother me but I would be horrified if I found out he was using my shower sponge.

I'm a massive fuss when it comes to my sponges and body puffs.
