Whenever you’re really angry and about to fire off an impassioned email / text / letter / telegram to that effect, wait 24 hours before you send it. In 99% of cases you will decide you want to moderate the message.

Don’t look back, you are not going that way.

Talk to God, and listen for a reply.

Get a blackout blind for the baby's room.

If in doubt, do nowt
Never give advice unless someone has asked you at least twice
Listen to your gut

LellyMcKelly Sat 13-Jun-20 09:18:55

Don’t let other people treat you badly.

What's meant for you wont pass you by

oohyoudevilyou Sat 13-Jun-20 09:20:25

Don't park next to a drain.

Whenever you achieve something there will always be someone wanting you to fail. Take no heed to what people think because if you do you will never achieve what you want. My old boss when I was about 23.

Blanca87 Sat 13-Jun-20 09:20:44

What's for you won't go by you.

OneRingToRuleThemAll Sat 13-Jun-20 09:22:53

You are enough. And your value is not measured by how much you are worth.

ProudMarys Sat 13-Jun-20 09:22:55

Well I heard lots of good advice but this was one I read recently which made sense to me.

Nurture your relationship. During a bad period of my life, I wasted a lot of time and energy trying to help family members, and someone wise said it to me. I realised losing my relationship with DH was not worth it.

Time is your most precious resource, spent it wisely.

Don't presume it's common sense. You might well have to teach an adult how to use a tin opener. Nothing is gained by shaming someone for not knowing something "simple".

“Be yourself”
Which always sounded stupidly trite and obvious to me years ago when people used to say that. I mean, duh, how can anyone not be themselves?!

Now I take it as one of the best pieces of advice. Be yourself, be true to yourself, don’t try to “be” other people, do what’s right for you, harnest and cultivate your own skills and grow your own character, invest in your own life yourself.

my midwife, many years ago 'clear up todays shit before you go to bed, cos tomorrow there is going to be whole lot more', she meant, tidy your living room and kitchen last thing, I think she was right, the only times I leave it in a shit state the morning feels really awful.

To quote the divine Chris Cornell-
'Be yourself,is all that you can do'
Wise words smile

When I had a young baby, nurse said ‘ if you feel you are going to lose it, go out.
You won’t lose it in public ‘.

KingscoteStaff Sat 13-Jun-20 09:41:04

Marry someone kind.

And get blackout blinds for the children’s room.

Laurie01 Sat 13-Jun-20 09:46:20

Every now and again, just stop, take it all in, and be grateful for what you've got.

SmilingHappyBeaver Sat 13-Jun-20 09:54:28

Judge others (especially those you are entering into a relationship with) by what they're like when they're at their worst. Because it's then you'll see them for who they really are, so you can make a better decision about it you want that for the long haul. Anyone can be happy, funny, cheerful etc for a short time.
