If you down load the app 'testflight' blue background with a propeller on it. Then open the mumsnet app you can now filter out posts only by the op...

You can thank me later!!

Looks like you have to be invited to use it with a link or something.....???

If you get rid of the mumsnet app, and then re down load it it should come up in the list of apps you try. Then it should work. Honestly it's amazing being able to filter out just the op posts!

Mumsnet should have this option. It drives me mad not being able to just see ops

Report
Whyhaveidonethis · 22/02/2020 06:49

I can't actually see it in the play store

Freshnewus · 22/02/2020 06:51

I don't understand.
The OPs post is always highlighted in green for me? (Screenshot attached)

There's a test with a number of mn using this at the moment so they can sort out any bugs.

HelgaHere1 · 22/02/2020 06:53

I presume mn doesn't want it because we will miss seeing adverts. Perhaps after a certain number of pages it could be an option. I don't look at long threads cos it's too tedious, I might if I could skim the OP's comments.

Nope. Didn’t work for me without an invite. Have re-deleted the awful app.

You can change the settings in Mumsnet to have the OPs posts in a different colour.

Report
adaline · 22/02/2020 07:34

You can already see the OP's posts in a different colour. Then just search the page for the OP's username and you can read all their posts that way.

Report
Crymea · 22/02/2020 07:39

You can go into your settings and highlight the ops posts in green and also your own posts a different colour too.

I think the OP means that you can set it so only the OP posts show up at all in the thread. No scrolling past other people’s comments.

I always ask for this whenever i contribute to improvement threads. I think MN agreed to look into it. It would be brilliant for those long threads.

SingleSidedShoulderShrug · 22/02/2020 07:51

Ah yes sorry I mean I can set it during this beta test thing to only seeing OPs posts so I can go on a thread that has 700 responses see that OP hasn't been back since the third response and then not bother reading the replies

You can opt to have the OP’s posts, as well as your own, highlighted in colour to discern them from the rest. OP’s posts are lilac for me while my own posts are green. This saves time in following a timeline on a thread and getting to where you last posted. You don’t need that app.

k1233 · 22/02/2020 08:09

I know there's only so many times you can read the same thing said differently, but sometimes the posts where the OP doesn't return have good, informative and helpful posts despite the absence of the OP.

I do tend to scroll for the green posts if nothing new is being said, but solely sering OPs comments seems a bit restricted.

What is the advantage of using the App at all? I just use the search facility on my phone. The OP's posts are green and I can scroll down. I wouldn't imagine the App saves more than a few seconds but I could be wrong.

I'm testing it op. It's brilliant. Also for when a poster says something random that doesn't make sense you caN easily find what they said earlier.

iano · 22/02/2020 08:15

I'm testing and love it.

@k1233 yes I agree, but sometimes you don't have time to read the whole thread and just want to know what happened eg the thread at the moment where op was going to tell her bf she had feelings for him at the wedding.

Cornettoninja · 22/02/2020 08:18

I suppose you just wouldn’t use it if you didn’t want to.

I’ve found looking for OP updates tedious at times (even with the colours set) and sometimes miss them on long threads. Also it saves the ‘RTFT’ comments off other people.

It’s standard on some other forums and I’ve always really liked it personally.
