BensonBunny Sun 23-Sep-12 11:19:43

Thanks for the heads up, just booked mine for the 23rd. smile

Arithmeticulous Sun 23-Sep-12 16:34:48

How? I can't see the option?

UnChartered Sun 23-Sep-12 16:42:41

nope, i just went to book one and the site reset as i tried to put groceries in the order

maybe it's a test for staff etc?

TheBrianRogersConnection Sun 23-Sep-12 16:43:37

They never deliver on the 24th.

UnChartered Sun 23-Sep-12 16:44:47

oh, now i'm fibbing, just reserved a slot

thanks OP

LaurieFairyCake Sun 23-Sep-12 16:46:44

Is it waitrose and not ocado?

UnChartered Sun 23-Sep-12 16:47:45

yup. waitrose

Goldpippin Sun 23-Sep-12 16:52:56

I just booked the 23rd, am going to be super organised this year.

Lilymaid Sun 23-Sep-12 16:53:11

How do you complete the reservation. I've put one item into the shopping bag, but I have 1 hour 57 mins to complete - how can I hold the order?

TheBrianRogersConnection Sun 23-Sep-12 16:55:06

You need to make it over £50 and checkout to secure ur slot, no money is taken.

UnChartered Sun 23-Sep-12 16:56:25

lily

put one high value item in the basket, expensive champers for eg - as long as the total is over £50 then go through checkout procedure as normal

you then have until 22nd Dec to update your order for delivery on 23rd

you are not charged anything until they actually put your order through the checkout

Lilymaid Sun 23-Sep-12 16:57:39

Thanks
Of course, if I forget, we will get a lovely (unexpected) delivery of luxury goods on 23rd December!

BellaVita Sun 23-Sep-12 17:01:17

Thanks for that DameEnid, I have just booked my slot for the 23rd.

I had Waitrose last year on the 23rd and they could not be faulted.

I have just popped two bottles of champers in my basket.

Arithmeticulous Sun 23-Sep-12 17:03:42

Found it! Just need to remember it now, or a strange man will show up with 3 bottles of gin wink

Their website is archaic, their two-hour delivery slots maddening - but I cannot help but be impressed that they refuse to deliver between 1-2 so the drivers get lunch - such civilised chaps grin

FredWorms Sun 23-Sep-12 17:15:01

Well if I forget I shall be getting 6 bottles of Persil liquid.

How sensible and so very dull.

I've disappointed myself there.

Mymumsdaughter Sun 23-Sep-12 17:22:54

Thanks

CointreauVersial Sun 23-Sep-12 17:46:42

Already?? Jeepers, I don't even know what we're doing for Christmas yet.

glitch Sun 23-Sep-12 18:02:18

Thank you for posting.
I now have 2 bottles of champagne, a box of chocolate ginger and some croissants coming on the 23rd Dec. Thought I'd make it something I like in case I forget to change it grin

LadySybildeChocolate Sun 23-Sep-12 18:03:21

Waitrose don't deliver here. sad There's a huge store 20 miles away, but they won't deliver here (huge city!). angry

MadameCastafiore Sun 23-Sep-12 18:05:22

I booked mine for 23rd, no good having one on 24th as that's the day to do cooking and if your shopping turns up with 10 crap substitutes or missing something you stuffed!

SauvignonBlanche Sun 23-Sep-12 18:10:03

I'm confused, are Ocado not Waitrose anymore?

mrsmoodypants Sun 23-Sep-12 18:12:13

Be warned - i booked ours last year for 23rd - 80% off my Xmas meal was missing due to their substitute policy eg. no potatoes in goose fat so they sent me NO potatoes at all!!!! Or any veg as i'd ordered the pre-prepared stuff and it had sold out so they figured i only wanted pre-prepared..... Ended up doing a mad xmas eve dash with the kids in the local tesco - no fun!!

And I adore Waitrose but last year messed up.....

LadySybildeChocolate Sun 23-Sep-12 18:13:50

Ocado are not Waitrose, they just deliver Waitrose products and have their own lines. They don't open their Christmas slots until October.

SauvignonBlanche Sun 23-Sep-12 18:16:03

Thank you LadySybilde grin
