I just booked the 23rd, am going to be super organised this year.

Lilymaid · 23/09/2012 16:53

How do you complete the reservation. I've put one item into the shopping bag, but I have 1 hour 57 mins to complete - how can I hold the order?

Report
TheBrianRogersConnection · 23/09/2012 16:55

You need to make it over £50 and checkout to secure ur slot, no money is taken.

Report
UnChartered · 23/09/2012 16:56

lily

put one high value item in the basket, expensive champers for eg - as long as the total is over £50 then go through checkout procedure as normal

you then have until 22nd Dec to update your order for delivery on 23rd

you are not charged anything until they actually put your order through the checkout

Thanks
Of course, if I forget, we will get a lovely (unexpected) delivery of luxury goods on 23rd December!

Thanks for that DameEnid, I have just booked my slot for the 23rd.

I had Waitrose last year on the 23rd and they could not be faulted.

I have just popped two bottles of champers in my basket.

Found it! Just need to remember it now, or a strange man will show up with 3 bottles of gin Wink

Their website is archaic, their two-hour delivery slots maddening - but I cannot help but be impressed that they refuse to deliver between 1-2 so the drivers get lunch - such civilised chaps Grin

Well if I forget I shall be getting 6 bottles of Persil liquid.

How sensible and so very dull.

I've disappointed myself there.

Thank you for posting.
I now have 2 bottles of champagne, a box of chocolate ginger and some croissants coming on the 23rd Dec. Thought I'd make it something I like in case I forget to change it Grin

Waitrose don't deliver here. Sad There's a huge store 20 miles away, but they won't deliver here (huge city!). Angry

I booked mine for 23rd, no good having one on 24th as that's the day to do cooking and if your shopping turns up with 10 crap substitutes or missing something you stuffed!

Report
SauvignonBlanche · 23/09/2012 18:10

I'm confused, are Ocado not Waitrose anymore?

Report
mrsmoodypants · 23/09/2012 18:12

Be warned - i booked ours last year for 23rd - 80% off my Xmas meal was missing due to their substitute policy eg. no potatoes in goose fat so they sent me NO potatoes at all!!!! Or any veg as i'd ordered the pre-prepared stuff and it had sold out so they figured i only wanted pre-prepared..... Ended up doing a mad xmas eve dash with the kids in the local tesco - no fun!!

And I adore Waitrose but last year messed up.....

Ocado are not Waitrose, they just deliver Waitrose products and have their own lines. They don't open their Christmas slots until October.

Not a problem. I'd like the option of testing Waitrose. Ocado ran out of bread yesterday, apparently. Confused
