Recommendations for a super grippy yoga mat under £80 in the UK

Hey yogis, I'm looking to get a new mat as the one I have is so slippery. It doesn't stick to the floor, and I don't stick to it! I've had enough! I've got a budget of around £60/80 ish and need something super super grippy.

I do yoga most mornings at home and a class once a week, so it will be a nice investment.

Can anyone recommend something? Ideally looking to purchase from a UK business, not Amazon.

Thank you 🙏

Edited to add.... also it needs to lay flat and not curl up at the edges...

Would you find a pre-owned mat acceptable? The grippiest I’ve used is Liforme - but they’re twice your budget.

(You could get a travel mat for your classes for less - if you’re quick with the sale.)

My buddy owns a company called movewell and their mats are INSANELY grippy. Quite heavy though. Not sure what it cost as it was a gift.

actually shortly after I posted, I treated myself to a Liforme mat.. I do yoga so often I thought I may as well spend the extra £20 and get one that I know will tick all my boxes. It arrives today can't bloomin wait!

I was coming on here to suggest Liforme. Mine is gold & I love it. No slipping in hot yoga!
Enjoy you gorgeous new mat - you wont regret paying the extra for something you will enjoy rolling out every day.

I’ve just bought a Liforme mat in the sale. I really hope it’s worth the money! My mat has lost its grip.

Just in case anyone else is looking, I recently bought an Ekotex jute yoga mat on the recommendation of my yoga instructor and it’s excellently grippy! And made in the UK. They are £54.

No, I wouldn’t say much different weight-wise to a standard mat.

Just spotted this thread and though I would add my 2pence worth for future reference.

A lower priced grippy mat is the rubber and hemp EcoYoga mat- they’re about £49 and I had mine for 2-3 years over the course of my teacher training in Ashtanga, so it got a lot of heavy use. They do shed a bit to begin with but very good value.

I replaced that one with a Manduka Eko mat which is long and heavy but I have had it since 2020. It needed breaking in- was a bit slippy when brand new- but since then has been pretty perfect and it’s still going strong. I paid about £100 but at this point that looks like great value.
