Had a rest from practice in the past year, ready to pick up once more and headed over to youtube the check in with Adrienne and Kassandra. Am very fond of them both!

I noticed that there appears to be a significant shift of focus in the past year, from yoga to yoga-strength, yoga-pilates, etc. Many of the videos contain more emphasis on core work and pilates than actual yoga now, and I wondered if this is because there is more demand for those types?

I appreciate that tehy have to do what it takes to keep relevant and successful, and that will definitely reflect current trends, but does anyone else notice it?

Pilates is very popular at the minute, there’s a lot of demand for it. That, and yin, is where I see trends moving towards.

Yeah I noticed both of them moving in a Yogalates direction, which I personally welcome!
I wonder if they're a) just getting older and b) hearing so much about how women should do strength training.

I think it's partly trends, but also they need to come out with "new" things to retain and attract viewers so it may be partly that. I had the Sarah Beth app for a while and she also did yogalates.
I like it as having tried proper pilates didn't really get on with it, but I don't mind some of the core focused moves within a yoga practice.
