I have lived in one of the other villages near to Littlehampton for almost 25 years and grew up in West Sussex. REALLY depends on whereabouts in Littlehampton you are moving to. Cons:The town centre is a bit sad and there has always been a bit of an issue with street drinkers. They are trying to sort this. I would go into Rustington to shop over Littlehampton every time. (Nice butchers, bakers etc)
Certain parts haven't got the best reputation, Wick being the main one but I dont live there so might not be being fair (have lived local ish for my whole life, bad reputation but that could be because of what it used to be like) If you are comparing it to "rough" areas in other UK cities, it's probably a walk in the park. LOTS of building going on in the area. Traffic is shite!
Pros: Nice beach and amusements if you like that kind of thing. Some pretty good restaurants popping up. South downs in the other direction. Easy to get into Chichester, Worthing and Brighton. The weather is always good ! (Actually it's not, but it's better than most places in the UK) Its actually really friendly 👋. I guess it's relative to where you are coming from.
