Lioforme mat

I'm tempted by the current 20% off... talk me out of it. Quite like the alignment lines and the idea of it being grippy.

What is your preferred mat? I practice only about 3 times a week, sometimes feel my current mat is too thin, but it's probably fine.

Hopeful bump

I had a Liforme. Lovely mat, good and sticky and the lines did help.

It was quite heavy. I used it often and it lasted about 2 years. It's now lost it's sticky and is peeling at the edges. I've gone for a cork one this time.

There is a cheaper liforme style one available but I can't remember its name !

I have a phantai mat and love it

Fargoer · 30/06/2021 15:59

Thanks. 2 years is not great for the price! Is cork heavy? Will check out the phantai.

Can I please hijack this thread I'm looking for a new yoga mat and I can't tell online which would be suitable. I currently just have a nice thick exercise mat but the problem is it stretches especially when doing warrior poses so I think I need a thinner one that has no strech in it, guidelines would be a bonus, does anyone have any recommendations.

HelenHywater · 07/07/2021 20:38

I have a liforme - it's really heavy if you need to take it to a studio! I currently have to take my own mat with me and it weighs a ton.

Otherwise it's fine - I like the stickyness. My cats love mine and have shredded it though. Mine's lasted longer than 2 years (apart from the cat scratches).

OverByYer · 07/07/2021 20:43

I bought a pürathletics mat in TKMaxx recently. It’s thick but not too thick and really grippy. Paid about £20

Imtoooldforallthis · 07/07/2021 20:50

Yes I need to take it to class.

Imtoooldforallthis · 07/07/2021 20:52

The liforme are a little to expensive for me could do with a cheaper lightweight version of that.

ablutiions · 08/07/2021 06:33

I bought a cork one to replace my liforme. Lighter, eco friendly and about £60. Nice and grippy and soft - but not too soft (too springy makes balances harder). No printed lines though

NoMoreTractors · 08/07/2021 06:39

I love mine. Yes they're abit heavy but they come with a decent bag to carry them in.

Teaandbicciesplease · 08/07/2021 06:39

I have a liforme. As pp said its quite heavy but great for grip and the lines are useful.

I hate the shiny surface of it though! It always feels cold and waxy. I'm thinking of trading mine in for a manduka pro as I prefer a matte texture.

YellowBellyCat · 08/07/2021 06:46

I like my liforme but the hall I do yours in is a bit mucky and I get grit on the mat which is hard to brush off as it’s so sticky.

Fargoer · 15/07/2021 13:44

Oh thanks for all the other comments. Really helpful. I am thinking of manduka pro as well but I've heard there is a long breaking in time for that!
The 20% off has ended now so may reconsider when it's cheaper again!

Apologies for the shameless plug here, but as this is such a supportive community and as it's in an effort to be helpful, I'm hoping you won't mind! :).. On a hunt for the perfect mat myself, I got so frustrated that I actually ended up developing my own -

We have one in particular which is made from similar material to Liforme but half the price as I was determined to make this product accessible for all as well as being as kind to the environment as possible. Would love to hear your thoughts - www.theform.co.uk/ - hope this helps - Of course, feel free to ask me any questions about the product/materials etc.xx

squashyhat · 19/07/2021 05:55

Basic Yogamatters one works for me.

doadeer · 19/07/2021 10:24

I'm too sweaty for normal yoga matters sticky mat I used to find it so stressful in down dog. I need the type designed for hot yoga 🤣

art3mis10 · 20/07/2021 08:43

I'm also a sweaty hands person - I have this one, gets grippier the more you sweat :)

Fargoer · 23/07/2021 08:55

Thanks for the extra recommendations!
The form mat design is gorgeous! but it's 1.2mm thinner which I think may feel significant (and doesn't include a bag).

art3mis10 · 06/09/2021 01:08

Check out this one - thicker and comes with a bag :) www.theform.co.uk/shop/p/black-onyx-rectangular-mat

I love my lifeforme it’s on its 6th year of 4/week use.
I got the grey because the pink one my teacher shown dirt more.
I got a travel one for my yoga teaching friend and she loves it because it’s light to take form one class to the next.
I didn’t enjoy the manduka but I’m loving the lifeforme.
