Need new mat - any recommendations?

My first mat is disintegrating, so I need a replacement! At present I have a cheap USA pro one, which has been fine as I wasn't sure if I'd stick with it at first, but it's flaking bits off and to be honest has never been quite long enough or grippy enough.

I know that one can spend £££s but I don't have many - £30 would be my max budget and I'd prefer to spend less. Can anyone please recommend a good grippy mat? It doesn't have to be super thick as I practice on carpet at home, and double mat at my class. I'd love a more eco-friendly option than plastic, but understand that this may not be possible on my budget.

TIA Smile

My son bought me this one for Christmas

I do four classes a week and it still looks good as new.

Much more grippy than the old USA Pro ones, I used to get through one of those every few months.

Forgot to mention, it's heavier to carry than the cheapo mats, if that's an issue.

Thanks! I do cycle to my class but not far, so I think I'd be ok with the weight. Good exercise...

Trideer Mystic Baroque Yoga Mat,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0783B7MNX?ref=yopoppmaswf

I've just bought this one, good thickness (but not so thick that you can't balance on it) and it's not slippy. I've had a few over the years and love this new one

I second Ruth white. I always recommend those mats.

Yoga Matters sticky yoga mat - mine looks as good as new 3 years in. The yoga studio I practise in also has them for people without their own mats. Cheap and cheerful.

runningto - I love the patterns on that mat!
