Does anyone do their own sequences?

After a brief hiatus due to life getting in the way, I recently made my return to the mat. It's been a couple of months since I did any yoga but felt the need to resume it as my anxiety has gotten way out of control lately so I'm trying to take active measures to get a handle on it and for me, yoga is an absolute. Forgotten how much I love it to be honest, and I'm now actually wanting to get a feel for building my own sequences. I'm a big fan of Tara Lee, so have some of her stuff, and bought a new DVD which arrived today so can't wait to try that out. It's the Total Yoga Collection. Probably get flamed for this but I'm not really a fan of Adrienne. She's good, just not for me! So, I'm just going to use the DVDs for now, just to be research into it online, and a buy a yoga book so hopefully I can work on my own sequences. My intention is to have one day a week, probably a Sunday, just to play around and see what works.

I'm rambling. So does anyone here just do their own thing and not follow Adrienne/DVDs/etc?

yes - just uncurl your mat and find your flow - let your body's intelligence show you what it needs on any given day - dvds and classes are lovely inspirations -finding one's own flow is freedom on the mat Flowers

OP - I am just now beginning to get the "logic" underlying vinyasa sequences, and have done my own several times. The thing is, I find I'm more relaxed, focused, and "in the moment" when I don't think about what I should do next. So it works better for now to go to class and do what I'm told to do from one moment to next.

Hopefully one day I'll get to to the point where I won't have to think and it will just flow.
