I've done yoga on and off for a few years, really stepped up my game this year and was going to power vinyasa flow 4x a week, all came to a crashing halt 3 months ago when I suddenly got bad lower back pains and chiro told me to lay off while she fixed me then ease back into it (under have a habit of pushing myself too hard)

Ready to ease back in and will be re attending my old classes as I really like the teachers but aiming prob for just two classes a week at the studio and in the meantime building blocks at home every day when possible. So effectively treating myself like a beginner with home practise

Any recommendations for websites/DVDs/challenges/YouTube channels that you've liked? Looking for 30-60 mins sessions that really focus on alignment and building blocks towards poses as I need to re teach myself how to align properly again (had successful years of doing yoga so I think in that last month or so I was just going at it too hard - pain was caused by build up of muscles becoming solid and pushing my spine out of alignment!)

Ta!

I find Yogazone on YouTube really works for me. I went to excellent classes for 3 years when I was learning yoga from scratch. I discovered Yogazone quite by chance and used it at home all the time as my class was only once a week. Due to a number of life changes my yoga practice has been non existent although I've been running, gym and circuit classes. I've really enjoyed these things but I neglected yoga and I have really struggled with aches and pains since the beginning of this year. Convinced I had something seriously wrong with me I had blood tests and they were all clear thankfully. This weekend I decided to really focus myself on getting yoga into my routine again. I've practised each evening since Friday and I feel like my old self again. I am pain free today for the first time for ages. The Yogazone sessions are 20 minute each time and you can choose from a variety of them on YouTubefocusing on different areas of flexibility, stretching, power, fat burning etc. They are set on the beach in Jamacia so are nice to look at. I find the delivery easy to follow even when I'm not able to view the screen. I hope this helps. Sorry you've had a bad back, hope these sessions might help you as they have me. I feel so much better today and realise I have been pushing myself too much working out and not taking time to stretch which is so important, so your post struck a cord with me when you said you had a habit of working out too much. Good luck.
