anyone know about a licence to wholesale?

We have a shop and have been approached by another shop owner who wants to buy products from us & sell them on.
Technically this would be wholesaling and something makes me think you need to be legally registered to do this?

Nope, not for a long time - since Purchase Tax was replaced with VAT 40 years ago I think.

I'm pretty sure there are certain things you need to be registered to wholesale - pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals for example - but if it's not just a general rule would be good
