Do I go for the job I am overqualified for?

Been interviewed by 4 people so far for this one particular job. All of them have asked the question why do I want to go for it as I am way too overqualified. But it's my first job back after being at home for 3 years, and i just want a 9-5 no responsibility kinda job. Haven't actually talked money yet anyway, so might not be enough.

I would want to do fair by them.
I can totally understand wanting a reduced responsibility job when you have young children, they may well accept that reasoning, too. Although there's probably some convoluted logic by which you can't tell them the truth, instead you have to say that you wish to 'Ease' yourself back into the workworld, etc.

If you think you would stay long enough to make it worth their while, then that would be fair for them.
Might need to bring up pay, though, not fair for you to waste their time if the pay is never going to be what you want!

oh well, didn't get offered the job anyway.
Their feedback was I was too overqualified and i wouldn't be happy taking a step back!
so obviously didn't convince them!!
