An ideal job's come up-Do I go for it...?

I need advice from Mums who understand my head and its confusions!

I'm a teacher and have been (very)part-time since I had my first child 6 years ago.

The youngest now starts school in January 2011 but an ideal (full-time) teaching job has come up for this September.

Do I go for the job and leave my youngest (a very confident young lady) at a breakfast club to fend for herself or do I spend one more year with my children (walking them to and from school) and hope an ideal job come up again next year?

I am a good teacher who could have a strong career ahead of me. I'm 36 and worried that the young guns will be taking all the jobs soon if I get much older.

I know it's an age-old problem but it's new to me and I'd appreciate even one-worded advice.

Thanks.

I think it very much depends on your personal thoughts.

If you look at it as just a few hours a week at breakfast clun and you know she will enjoy it,for the good of your career and the family purse then go for it.

If you think this is my last baby I cannot bear the thought of leaving her at breakfast club and not walking the dc to school in wind/rain/gales etc then dont go for it and spend several times a week wondering ..'what if?'.

If I were you I think id think 'this is a chance to get back in' and get an interview at least.

And its not fending for herself at breakfast club.

Ideal jobs don't come up very often (well, mine don't anyway!) so I'd go for it.

I'd go for it

You might as well apply for it - you can always turn it down later!

Go for it!

Thanks for all the messages/advice. It's a heart says children, head says job scenario. Closing date for application isn't until a wwek Monday so I've got loads of time to consider options.
