Working 2.5 days per week: best arrangements for preschool children?

I have got a new job working 2.5 days per week. I'm wondering how my children (15 months and 3.6) would adapt to 2 full days and one half day in childcare? Do they get used to being collected at a certain time? Obviously they can't tell the time but I presume they use other markers in the day like "after lunch" or "after tea" or whatever. Would it confuse them if some days they are collected at lunchtime? I hate the thought of them expecting me at lunchtime on a day when they are actually staying all day.

My dd1 went to nursery 1 full day and 1 half day and I didn't find it confused her at all. Tbh any problems were to do with the fact that she didn't want to leave her friends and come home on her half days.

Both my children have always done 2.5 days. ds1, now 6 did. ds2, now 1 currently does. Never been a problem.

My DD does 2.5 days too. She is 2. It doesn't confuse her.

We tell her each morning (she usually asks) what is happening each day - whether it's staying at home, nursery, or nursery in the morning and then coming home after lunch.

Fantastic, thanks for responses. Looks like this could work then.
