you can turn up and see if there is anyone available to talk to you...
but you will probably have to make an appointment if there is anyone specific you need to speak to.
they may give you forms to fill in and ask you to bring them back in and talk to someone

well it's always worth going in on the off chance that someone will be able to see you!

i've only ever been in to apply for jobseekers allowance and they just gave me a load of forms and i had to make an appt and bring them all back with me

If your main reason for going is looking for a job (?), when I went they told me to look on the internet - Jobcentre Plus - they said all the jobs they had were there too.

Then you could ring the lone parent person and save yourself a dreary time waiting in a queue
