Bank shifts whilst on mat leave (nurse/midwife in nhs)

Hi was hoping someone could help me with this.

I am a midwife in the nhs and am currently on mat leave due to return to work mid sept.

During june july and aug i will only be recieving smp and was wondering if i can do any paid shifts (bank shifts) to top up the smp.

Thanks for any responses.

Our trust have "contact days" for while you're on mat leave. If you want you can work one day a month (paid) to keep your hand in. Now these aren't strictly bank shifts as you're supernumerary and you can say yo uwant to come in on X shift whetehr they need you or not. But you get paid while on SMP.
