Nightmare..... lost a big contract......

I just found out that my company have lost a major contract they were bidding. It was the only job on the cards located at the site I'm based at..... so although I won't be made redundant I will have to work from Head Office indefinitely now.... and that is 1.5hrs away and will cost me £60 per week. So effectively I may as well be losing my job. Our current project ends this month.

I hate this industry and I hate working and I hate needing to work. I'm updating my CV just now, but am just so weary of hurdles I just want to scream and kick and shout.... and go home to my babies.

No real reason for this thread other than a vent.... feel free to ignore.

Question for interview:

Do you allow Mumsnet access

If answer is no - do not consider it!!!!!!!!

QueenFlounce · 05/07/2005 09:51

OBVIOUSLY.... that will written into my contract!

Not flouncing is fine, I respect that - so long you are OK?! Is the job hassle getting to you or are you alright Toothache?????

Toothache · 05/07/2005 14:04

Sax - I think working with my Dad gets to me more than anything else. He likes to make an arse of me in front of his audience whenever he's in a bad mood. And he's deeply racist, it makes me sick to hear him rant about "the blacks" and he rants ALL DAY. I'm really ashamed of him.

Sax · 05/07/2005 14:19

Ahhh dear, thats hard for you! Maybe all this has/will be for the best. You could perhaps do with a complete change then. Don't let him put you down and if he does, don't listen to it - you don't need that and are worth more than that!

Toothache · 12/07/2005 08:35

Wooohooooo had my interview yesterday! What a grilling! I really wasn't expecting that. So.... going by the techincal nature of the interview...and the salary (which is more than double my current salary) I really don't think I was what they were looking for. Ho hum.... I'll know tomorrow.

I'll do anything within reason to get away from my Dad. So far this morning my typing had irritated him..... and my sniffing (bad hay fever). So much so that he stormed out the office in a temper!! WTF???

So now my working irritates him...and I'm sitting here scared to sniff! He's at a meeting right now thankfully!

Blu · 12/07/2005 11:50

Toothache - your current comapny was one of the ones whose sign was falgged up on a news article about huge building contracts for the olympics....

Toothache · 12/07/2005 11:51

Toothache · 12/07/2005 16:04

Well... still no news. If they were offering me a job then they would've contacted me before now so I could get my notice in today. Ho hum..... part of me is relieved as its very scary!!
