Fire safety etc if seeing clients at home - what do I need?

I am going to be seeing clients at home in two rooms separate from the rest of the house (waiting room with wc, and room to see clients in). What do I need for fire and general safety purposes? Presumably:

  • small fire extinguisher in each room
  • fire exits clearly marked
  • chevrons to mark where the steps are

Anything else? Liability insurance of course, but anything else practical that I'm not thinking of?

Many thanks!

Fire alarm (break glass type)?
Fire procedure - break glass, collect in carpark etc...?

Illuminated fire exit sign?
Fire blanket?

Ask Fire Brigade for a check?

That's the sensible obvious answer, thanks Uriel! My colleagues who see clients in their own homes don't have any of the above I don't think, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
