I have a PGCE aquired in England and taught for 4 years in reception and yr1. That was all 11 years ago now. I think I might need to retrain to teach in Scotland? What is it like? How long did it take?
Also if I didn't go back into teaching I would consider working as a teaching assistant. Are these as common in Scotland?

We have loads of classroom assistants in Scotland although they are not nearly as well paid as teachers. You could even try and assistants post while you are looking into things or studying if need to?
