i am very nervous and would be most appreciative for any tips and advise..

i have to go away with my 13 month old for work for 1 week.

am worried that our well established bedtime routine will fall apart, since she is used to sleeping in her own room, in the dark (she always cries 2-3 times at night, but falls back to sleep within 2-3 min, we dont go to her).

am afraid that when she will wake up and see me, she'll demand that i pick her up and wont fall back to sleep. dont really know how to deal with this so that all that we have achieved wont collapse...

Hi Mamaruth

I'd be worried about this too.

Could you see if the hotel has any rooms with a little lobby or something - somewhere where her cot could be out of sight of you - a suite if money's no object? Connecting rooms? Some hotels offer lower rates for a child in it's own room. I've heard of people setting up the travel cot in the bathroom but they must be people who never need to pee.

I think I'd give the hotel a call first and see if they have any suggestions.

Good luck.
