NVQ Assessors, will these jobs be around much longer?

I am interested in training to do this job, but I recently spoke to someone who is an NVQ assessor and they said soon there will be no assessors and everyone will have to be teachers.

Just wondering if anyone does this job and has any more informtion?

Well, from the world of childcare, I'd say that the level 3 will be around for a while. A cloud hangs over the level 4 though ,owing to the introduction of the post-graduate EYPS, (every setting needs to have one by 2012).
