Been working for Subway for over a year.

Arrived at work to be told by owner he was in financial difficulty, so could not pay that months wages

Good news franchise sold to someone new, so not lost job. But missing months wages will not be paid by him (new owner).

A friend has told me that the new owner should be liable for these outstanding wages.

Does anyone know what I can do to try and get this money. What are my rights - can they do this.

Thanks.

Have a look at this link about insolvent employers and this about transferring employment including from an insolvent employer to a new one.
