Hi,

started a new job after being made redundant.
Began work on 18th mAY this year.
I should be subject to a three month probation period but i haven't signed any contract yet.

The company has no stock so i am unable to sell anything, they have laid off most of their external sales force in the last couple of weeks citing non-performance. These guys had nothing to sell so no chance to perform.

They were paid by cheque but the cheques have bounced.
The chairman (who i report to) has gone missing, is talking to no one and not going into the office.
We are on stop with every supplier due to non payment.
I am assuming that we are going under.

Am i likely to not be paid? Normal pay day should be 1st of each month. Is there any legal requirement for employees to be paid of the company goes into receivership?

Have a look about insolvent employers here. If you are not paid and the company is insolvent you should be able to claim some money from the government.
