Title says it all, thinking of applying for a job but not sure what the pro rata salary would be. Does anyone know the calculation to work it out?

depending on the working time, it will be the number of hours or days divided by the standard number of hours or days times the salary.

eg, a 3 day week, instead of a normal 5 day week on a £20K slary would be £12K.

3 day week is 60% of a normal 5 day week. So multiply the salary by 0.6 to get the salary.

There's a pro-rata salary calculator here

this is also useful

It depends what full time hours are at that particular employer. If for example the job is £25k pro rata working 21 hours a week, and the full time hours are 40 hours a week, then the calculation would be £25,000/40x21=£13,125.

But for the same job and the same salary, if the full time hours are 35, the calculation would be £25000/35x21=£15,000.

So you really need to ask the employer in question either what the actual salary would be or what their full time hours normally are.
