Retrain to be an accountant/book keeper so I can work from home

Okay, can anyone tell me if they have done this, how long it would take and is it possible? And also what qualifications I should aim for? to make working from home a viable business.

I did GCSE and A-level accounts (over 15 years ago).

I think to become a full accountant you need a degree (friend of mine can only do so far as no degree) and i've done a book keeping course. Pitman lvl 1 & 2 which was once a week for a year. There are shorter courses around I think.

Degree not necessary. I would recommend doing the AAT qualification which is now very well respected. You can then use this to get exemptions from CIMA and ACCA foundation exams.
