Made redundant today- what are my daughters rights.

Hi, my daughter has been told today that the fast food company she works for has gone bankrupt. So her wages wont be paid next week, the bank have stopped any further monies being withdrawn. She has been there 18 months.

She has been told that she is to be made redundant by the current company that owns the shop, the good news is that a new company has bought the shop and will be keeping her on.

What are her rights in being able to get her pay back etc. and who will pay her redundancy money if she is entitled to any?

Thanks a lot for any advice.

She won't be made redundant if someone else is taking over and is keeping her on, and she would only be entitled to redundancy pay once she had two years' service anyway.

Have a read of this section all about rights during business transfers, particularly this bit about transfer of insolvent businesses and also this bit about monies owed by insolvent employers.
