Risk of redundancy, now pregnant - still eligible for mat pay?

Hiya,

I'm a long time employee who's been at risk of redundancy since Jan.
They're restructuring and keep extending my end date as they haven't yet worked out where my responsibilities will lie, but my current role won't exist.
I'm now pregnant (thought it wasn't worth holding off anymore!).
Am I eligible for mat pay (on top of any redundancy payment)?

Thanks,
Hari

As long as you are working their after 15wks before your due date then you are eligible for mat pay. It happened to me, made redundant at end of last yr, had dc2 on 21st Feb and being paid full maternity pay (9mths).

I'm only 8 weeks pregnant.. I guess I have to hope they extend yet again!

Assuming you qualify for SMP on grounds of length of service and earnings, you will still be entitled to it even if your employment ends, as long as you were still employed 15 weeks before your due date.

If your employer offers anything over and above SMP, you will probably not be eligible for that regardless.
