dont understand why you return to wd you dont like,or why they re-book you if all so problematic

can you drop the problematic ward and go elsewhere?external agy?

nailpolish · 04/03/2009 09:29

i return to the ward i dont like as i agreed to go there for a few months

you cant really be picky as a bank nurse. its either work there or not get paid. sometimes id rather not get paid - thats the problem

i dotn want to talk about it anymore

too upset

thanks for your input

hi nailpolish you sound really down about things - as flowery said it is early days yet, I'm hoping that you hear good news about your interview today.

I think if I were in your position, I would be upfront about it, but make sure I had addressed the issue and could demonstrate evidence of this, before applying for jobs.

So maybe in an appraisal or review for current employer, discuss how I would deal with my low attendance and ways of showing 'willing' in future. If people re-book you because you're good, that must work in your favour. Can you capitalise on this somehow, and get your future references to reflect both your good points and also how you are addressing the weaknesses?

UnquietDad · 04/03/2009 10:55

It's like in school - 90% sounds really good as an exam result, but 90% attendance, which one child in DD's class had, sounds good until you realise that it means they missed on average one morning or afternoon session out of every week!

ok,so we have a dysfunctional work environment.has anyone else complained?is the absence higher than other wd's

is it solely one individual
is it a bullying culture
overall bad mgt
heavy work load
do they use lots of agy/bank or is it mainly pernament staff
does anyone else find it hard going
do they recognise your unhappiness, and high absence or pragmatically do they just need an RN and dont notice/care
if you are being bullied, keep thorough notes, dates

are you in a union
