Just had job interview but found out I'm pregnant last week!!

I need some advice... I just went for a job interview, for a job I'd really like. In my field (museums) jobs pop up really infrequently so when I saw this one I had to apply. Well, it took them a month and a half to shortlist. I finally got an invitation to interview last week, on the same day I found out I am expecting baby no. 2.

There are issues around the job being FT, and finding childcare for my 2 year old... I currently work PT. Aside from that it's a great job. Of course, I don't know if I've gotten it yet.

So, what do I do if they offer it to me? Do I wait until 3 mos to tell them I'm preggers and deal with their attitude then? Or should I be up front?

In terms of protecting yourself, as long as you've had the offer of employment you should be safe to tell them if you want to as to withdraw the offer because of that would be discrimination.

In terms of whether you want tp tell them straightaway, depends really. You could mention it soon after you start, or wait until 3 months. It's not so bad - as you are just pregnant, you'll still be there for a good chunk of time before you go off on maternity leave.

The one thing I would say is, if you are hoping to negotiate the hours down, don't also tell them you are pregnant, as they then might be tempted to withdraw the offer based on hours, but might have been more inclined to negotiate hours had they not known you were pregnant iyswim.
