dh's company making veiling threats

they know he ca't work full time cos of his caring duties and they know he can't go on conferences or work away from the city.
Now they are making veiling threats about his job if he doesn't agree to some conference on 6th nov.
I thought the new Carers laws stopped companies doing that to carers?
Any ideas?

oops what i MEANT to add - the sharon coleman case was part-funded by the equality and human rights commission as theyre interested in the area. and they have a helpline so could probably offer some useful advice. 0845 604 6610 if you are in england.

Woodstock- that's the Attridge case I was referring to. They were the defendant.

Yes, so it might be disability discrimination.

If they really ned him to go surely they can find and pay for a carer for the day and that might also mean in future there is more flexibility in the lives of all of you and that substitute person could be used in future.

Must be awful having MS and a disabled child.
