I've got a friend working for TfL (transport for london) and they get 6 months full pay + 3 months half pay + 3 months unpaid....
I'm being ripped-off with my company offering only the minimum 6 weeks at 90% and then SMP...

so what other companies are offering good benefits for maternity?
(bit late to chnage for me as im 24 weeks already but still im interested!)

AAAaaargh
So jealous, frankly. I work for a TV company, am quite senior... but only get SMP. 9 months! I don't think I can afford to take more than 3 months off which is already really stressing me out - but we just got married and bought a crappy house in need of much work so I can't not work....

civil service is the best though isn't it?
5 yr career break and similar job at end
job security
pension
9 months full pay!!

I'm glad I'm so generous

I get three months full pay, then three months half pay, and the option of the last 6 months unpaid. The company I worked for changed the policy for new staff who now only get 6 weeks at 90% then SMP, so I feel very lucky indeed.
